JCPenny's Cribs...how to get free shipping?

Everytime I find a crib at JCPennys, I can't seem to get free shipping.  I try to order online and use promo codes, but they say that that code isn't valid for that item.  I call and they say that because it is a "truck delivery" it doesn't qualify.  How thehell else would they deliver a crib, parachute it from an airplane?!

Here is the crib I want, but not unless I get the shipping free.

How are you guys getting your cribs shipped for free?  Can you link me to your JCP cribs?

Re: JCPenny's Cribs...how to get free shipping?

  • Check if they still have the deal where if you buy/order something off a registry then shipping is free. I did this with my daughter (granted that was 8 years ago). We put our nursery furniture on a registry and when we ordered it (had to get it shipped to a store not our house) shipping was free saving us probably hundreds.

  • We ordered our furniture from JCP during a "free shipping event" - which they have pretty often. They key is to making sure it is delivered to the store, and not your home. Another way to save some money (although you can only use 1 promo code for an item) is to go buy something small at the store and you will get a survey on your reciept - do it and get a code for 15% off your next purchase, even online. I read the find print and it says "excludes furniture" but we used it towards our dresser without a problem!

  • Do you have a JCP near by? I was originally going to order a set from JCP but changed my mind. Try using "ship to store" and then use the coupon code and it should be free to ship it to the store. That is the only way I could get free shipping for the "truck delievery" items.

  • I just recieved our crib from JCPenny. Although I didn't get take part in free shipping, I did save about one hundred dollars on shpping by having it shipped to a jcp store and picking it up from there. Also if you are ordering soon, like before the end of the month, plug in code Sur10feb and you will save and extra twenty percent on each item. That should help with the cost of shipping.

    Hope this helps!

  • To be honest this is why I ended up buying the crib and coordinating furniture elsewhere... there are TOO many vendors that have universal free shipping and not "truck delivery" restrictions (simplybabyfurniture.com, walmart.com etc).  Unfortunately most of JCPenney's furniture is exclusive and if you fall in love with a style, you cant get it anywhere else :(

  • 2SELLALL is free shipping on all orders over $75 exp 2/15 though. Just use that code and have it shipped to the store. It'll work - my friend just did it yesterday and it went through.

  • As some of the PP said, to get free shipping on furniture you have to ship to the store.  I couldn't even get it to work online, so I called and ordered through the catalog with no problems!

  • Thanks for the help.  Now to figure out how to get it to my home from the store.  Not really free shipping, is it?

  • Like everyone else said.  You have to use a free shipping code and have it shipped to a store for pickup. I was thrown off by the "truck" thing too.  I ordered other furniture from them that was able to be delivered to my house using the free promo codes but for the crib I had to have it delivered to the store.

I ordered that exact same crib you are looking at.  We picked it up last week and I LOVE it.  It was very easy to set up and is very sturdy.  The wood is beautiful and it matches our other espresso colored furniture. I'm really happy I made the purchase. Here is a picture of ours if you want to see it.  (The lighting is horrible please excuse the bad picture!)

  • I got my crib from JCPenney, but I had to do the free shipping to the store, luckily for me I have several JCPenney's near me.  I did order it on a Sunday and it was at the store by Wednesday, so they have pretty quick shipping to store.
