We haven't had a check-in in a while! How is everyone and their LOs? Welcome to all the new members, tell us about yourself and let us know how you are doing.
DD is doing great, her vocab amazes me every day, she learns a few new words every day and repeats everything! MIL wants to be called "grammy" and she came over y'day and DD was calling her "gammy" - so cute! She also says what sounds like "Bonnie" which happens to be MIL's name. The other day she said "crap" (ummm ooops). It's a great stage (minus the crying and tantrums) b/c I am really enjoying watching her mental development and growing independence.
I was on crutches all last week and am driving myself today but should not be. I was on my feet all weekend long and the ankle is not well.
I have my GD test next week but with only 3.5mo to go I can't believe we have done nothing to prepare for the baby! We really need to start transitioning DD to the other room and start getting ready for the baby!
I'm hanging in there. In regards to my GD, I met w/ the dietician and RN last week and was put on a 3k calorie diet w/ the hopes of gaining 15 lbs (so far I've only gained 4.5 this entire pregnancy due to lack of desire to eat) so basically I'm eating and testing every 2 hours on the dot. Due to me losing another pound at last weeks OB appt, I was sent for a growth sonogram to ensure the baby was growing and sure enough its definitely right on track. The estimates were 2-3 weeks ahead and 5 lbs which I'm guessing is probably realistically 4 lbs or so. Baby was head down, facing my butt yet mooning the rest of the world which would explain why I thought the babys butt was up between my boobs. Thats all for now....
Hello, I'm new to the board. I'll try to doing more posting and less lurking. My DS is 7 months old and had an eventful weekend...he started crawling!! No more army crawling and scooting backwards. Going to BRU this weekend to buy a baby gate..oh and a convertible carseat. I think I've decided on the Grace MyRide..anyone have that? Love it or hate it???
We're doing great... My LO will be 5 months old this week, and I can't believe how fast time flies! She has now rolled over a few times -- of course, the first 3 times were for my parents when I wasn't around. I've only seen it once, but my DH has seen it a couple times. She can only go back to front at this point. She's also talking a lot more these days and it's really cute to hear her try out new sounds. We're battling some pretty bad eczema right now, and trying to figure out what her trigger is... it's a lot of trial and error with different lotions, detergents, and I am on a dairy-nut-citrus free diet. We'll see if any of it helps....
I'm looking forward to some warmer weather sometime soon... it's been hard to get out with such a little one. We can't even really take walks because my jerk neighbors don't shovel their sidewalks, and my street has been a mess until just this weekend...
I'm new to thebump, but have been a regular poster on theknot for a while now. I'm a first time mommy, and while the mommy experience has been overwhelming at times, I am looking forward to getting to know this amazing little person that DH and I created.
I am a full time working mom (last week was my first week back), and feel very lucky that DH can stay home with Taryn during the day. She is growing so fast and we watch her make new discoveries every day. Last week she found her hands which has provided her (and us) hours of entertainment ever since. I am sure I will have many more questions for you guys. Thank you for the help so far!
We are doing great :-) It's been almost a month since Warner had his ear tubes in and he's been healthy every since. It's such a relief not having to worry all the time that he's getting sick again and I know he's feeling better. Also, I think being off antibiotics finally is helping his appetite. He used to be pretty picky when it came to new foods, but now he seems to want to eat everything in sight.
As I posted below on Friday, he is feeling out this whole walking thing. The most he's taken so far is about 3 solid steps, but then he either crashes or kneels down and starts crawling. But he looks so excited while he's trying to walk, I love it. He is just such a happy, fun baby--DH and I are having the best time with him.
DD #2 goes for ear tubes March 5. Not looking forward to it, but hopefully it will help with all these blasted ear infections.
DD #1's verbal skills have completely taken off, in that she is really understanding nuances now. And she's picking up/using phrases, like if you ask her something, she'll say "hmmm, let me see now..." or "I've got to think about that for a minute..." It's hard to describe, but these little phrases make her speech so interesting. And she's learning words that are alike, like "clomp" and "stomp" or "scared" and "fightened." It's funny to see how she's sort of like "why in the world are there two words for that?"
They had their joint birthday party last weekend, and it was a big success. I highly recommend joint parties to anyone else who has two kids with the same birthday month.
Wife, Musician, Fed, WW-er, and Mom of three little kids - not necessarily in that order.
We're doing well. She's crawling, pulling herself up, and babbling like it's her job. Which, you know, I suppose it is at this point. She had her 9-mo appointment last week and she's 50-75% for everything. She's also just a joy to be around, most of the time, although at the beginning of last week, she was crying every time we dropped her off at daycare. I guess that's what a week of snowdays gets you. We'll see how this weekend goes, when her grandparents are here for the first time since November.
We're doing great here. DS is crawling and pulling up on everything. He loves to be carried so he can stare at everything. We are starting to experience some major seperation anxiety. We had a babysitter come over Saturday night and she said he was fussy and constantly looking around for us. Sunday school has also been difficult as he doesn't like it when we leave him. We're trying to find more ways to get him to interact with others without us being around. But otherwise, so far, so good!
Baby is due at the end of April, and everything seems to be going great! I had to do the 3 hour GD test on Thursday and it was a nightmare...so now that it's over I'm just waiting for results. I need to slow down my weight gain but all I do is keep baking cupcakes. I'm my own worst enemy.
Baby is kicking HARD now and I think he's in a transverse position. I cant believe he'll be here in 10 weeks...we have so much left to do. Scary!
I am doing well! I am consistent lurker of the board but most mostly on 2nd Tri and sometimes the nest GP board. DH and I are expecting our first child in mid June and I am so excited but also very overwhelmed as I have no clue what to expect. We are having an unmedicated birth with the midwives at Birthcare in Alexandria.

Hi! I am mostly a lurker on this board-- but since I have survived the first month, I thought I would post to celebrate. My little baby girl turned one month yesterday and she is doing great. Beginning to inconsistently sleep through the night, bats randomly at toys in her activity gym and tries to put her pacifier back in her mouth when it starts to slip! Took her to church yesterday and out this weekend-- I feel like I am turning back into a normal person!
Doing very well here! DS is just about 4.5 months old and has started sleeping a TON better recently. He went from sleeping typically 5 hours at a stretch to 6-9 hours at a stretch. We also started him on solids and he's had 3 days of carrots so far and he absolutely loved them. Next up is peas and we'll see if he's ok with those.

Everyone is doing so well! DD will be 1 on Saturday! We can't believe it. The grandparents are coming for a small party. She is really doing amazing things and making us so proud. She has a ton of words, even though they aren't all well articulated. She asked for yogurt ("oh-ur") and a banana ("nana!") for breakfast this morning!!! Hearing her call me mama is the best, too.
Her other trick is that we can start reciting any one of her books, and she'll stop what she's doing, go to her big bookshelf, and pick out that book and bring it to us. We're amazed by her growth and development. It just keeps getting more and more fun!
DS is 4 months old today! I look back to the first 1 or 2 months and think how much easier it is now.
He was baptized this weekend and was a superstar. He didn't cry and didn't seem to mind being passed around. Now we just have to work on STTN. He is so close but still needs a little snack at 3am. I can't say that I mind too much - since I still go check on him constantly anyway.
I have really enjoyed the info here on the bump - especially things to do since I am a SAHM.

DS is doing great lately. Well, aside from a nasty stomach bug on Saturday when he couldn't keep anything down (ugh). We were home with him the whole week of the snow, which was really nice but also tiring - I'm starting to appreciate daycare a lot more! He rolled over that week (we have video!) and tried some rice cereal but he was really not a fan. I'll try again in another week or so. He won't be 6 months adjusted for another month or so, so I'm not in a rush.
He's back to sleeping really well, just one wakeup at night, and is just soaking in and learning so much. He babbles a lot, and I swear he gives me hugs and kisses. He's started laughing, too - he won't do it a lot, you really have to work for it, but when he does it's awesome. He's started teething, but it doesn't seem to be bothering him much; just a lot of gnawing and a little crankiness here and there. Fingers crossed it stays that way. Looking forward to the next milestones, and the day he decides to sleep through the night.
were just about 8 weeks old and I already cant remember life without him. He is generally a fantastic baby and eats and sleeps great. The few issues we have is that he is experiencing colic...he is a monster baby for about 3 hours a night and DH and I are at our wits end and get really frustrated:( Once we start the bedtime routine he calms down so we are going to try and start that earlier.
he sleeps for 7 hours straight and then feeds and down for another 3 but the issue with that is he sleeps in his bouncer chair..he wants nothing to do with the pack and play or his crib. we are going to talk to the ped at his next appt. He sleeps for 7 straight hours in the bouncer or 3 minutes in the pack and play...I'm no dummie:-)
I have had to start supplementing with some formula because he is eating too much, I have been EPing since day 1 because he could not latch so I know exactly how much he is eating. I am pumping every 2 hours and still not making enough for him to eat for the day, so he is getting 1 formula bottle a day. I am going to try and decrease my pumping sessions back to every 3-4 hours because pumping every 2 hours is no way to live:(
even with these few minor issues we are so in love with him:-)
We are doing great. Her last two teeth (minus the 2-yr molars) are about to come through then we're done with teething! Yay! Teething was really hard on DD, so I'm happy it's almost over.
She is really a walking, talking little person now. No more little baby, for sure! She makes me laugh all the time at the things she does. Like Sofya said, aside from the crying and temper tantrums, this is SUCH a fun age!
I have been more of a lurker than a regular poster and I thought I would say hello...DD#2 will be a month old on Wednesday--I can't believe how quickly time passes! She's a very mellow baby--very different from her sister at this age--and a decent sleeper, though last night I had to get up a few more times that usual. I have another 2 weeks of full maternity leave and then I'll start working from home part time for 2 weeks before going back to work full time in late March. I have to say that I am looking forward to going back to work...though it is really strange to think about not being around the little one all day like I was with DD#1.
DD#1 is at a totally fun age--really verbal, with a great sense of humor. We were worried she would be very jealous of her little sister, but she has really been a rockstar. I feel incredibly lucky...while wondering if this is just a temporary, honeymoon phase...
We continue to ride our crazy rollercoaster here.....at 35 wks my low lying placenta finally moved enough to make my dr's happy. However, at that same appt they found protein in my urine and my BP was elevated. So now I remain on bedrest and am being montiored for Pre-E. Depending on my health I could be induced at any point now....although my scheduled induction if 3/9. So now it is just a wait and see game!!!
Best thing is my DH and my sister busted tail this weekend and got the nursery done...it looks so awesome. So now I can relax a little bit and feel almost prepared for LO to arrive whenever he does.
I am 14 weeks today (for some reason my ticker is 1 day off). Thankfully, the dizzy spells have subsided - I thik overheating was my problem. Had a little bit of a scare on Friday w/some spotting - but I have a cervical polyp which was discovered at 11 weeks - so that was to be expected - I called the nurse and she said to just mointor it and call if it got worse and fortunatly it stopped.
Other than that, I'm reading Baby Bargains and working on a list of what we want and trying to figure out what all needs to be done before the baby gets here..
I'm feeling a little jealous of all the updates about good sleepers I'm trying to kick a cold while getting up too many times at night. I thought we finally had DD down to eating at bedtime, 1:30 and 5:30 (three or four days in a row isn't a fluke, is it?), but then she added in a 10:30 wake-up last night. Which would be fine if either of us was awake at that hour to be coherent enough to try to calm her without needing to feed her. I look forward to consistently being able to sleep for more than two hours at a stretch all night long...one day?
We are doing well. DD is growing so quickly. She'll be six months on Saturday. She finally rolled over from tummy to back and she's working on back to tummy now. She sits up unassisted for a few seconds. If she's lying down she tries to pick her head as if she can sit herself up. Her eczema is somewhat under control, she only has flare ups once every two weeks on her cheeks and her chest so it's getting better.
I am also looking forward to warmer weather. We've been out shopping and we can only find spring/summer stuff so I can't wait for her to wear it all. We are taking a little trip to PR to see my Mom in two weeks so looking forward to it!
Good morning ladies! It is great to read all your updates.
We are doing fine! DS is almost 4.5 months old now (3 months adjusted) and he is doing great. Last week he received his immunizations and the Pedi said his weight/height were the ones of an average full term baby now. Yay! He is starting to "talk" a lot more, and loves when we help him jump and walk. On the downside, it is very difficult to get him down for naps! The only place where he would sleep for more than 45 minutes is his swing. Our goal for the next few weeks is to transition him to his crib for naps and bedtime. I cannot complain about his sleeping at night though, he is down by 7pm and up by 6am with 2 dreamfeedings at midnight and 3am. Although during the last past few days he has been waking up at random times. Hello growth spurt/4 month wakeful? Hope not!
Due to weight issues, we're still trying to wake him up every 2.5-3.5 hours to feed him. Every now and then we'll let him sleep till he wakes up, which is usually a 4-5 hour stretch. Shame we can't take advantage of sleepy baby a bit more. He was 8 lbs at his 2 week check-up, so at least he's moving upwards now.
He doesn't cry when he's hungry, wet, soiled - but certainly breaks open the tears and screeches when he's got gas. The gas seems to happen all the time, at every feeding. Not sure whether to give him gas drops yet. Advice?
Also introduced passie - using only as a last ditch effort as he likes the comfort of sucking when he's in pain and frankly I can't nurse him 24-7.
As for me:
I'm still paranoid and scared, but I guess that's "normal." I am so worried about SIDs and can't seem to get all the "what - ifs" out of my head.
My mom broke her ankle on our stairs and needed surgery last week so my help now needs help. DH not too thrilled but its a short term thing until she is cleared to travel back home.
Also having crazy dreams, probably due to sleep deprivation. I'll wake up panicked because I dreamt that I nursed him in bed and feel around for him and he's nowhere to be found. Then I'll realize that he's safe in his crib in the nursery.
Looking forward to 1 month bday next Sunday.
Hope everyone is doing well!

I'm jealous of all the good sleepers too! My little guy will be 4 months on Friday, we're still waking every 3 hours...luckily (knock on lots of wood!) he goes back down quickly. He went to daycare for the first time last week and did well. He finally finished a whole bottle there on Friday. Still only 7 oz. total from 9 - 4, but it's progress! Today will be the first time he is really there all day, 7:30 - 4, so I'm hoping he eats well. He definitely makes up for it at night!
He is getting over his cold but still has a cough. We go for his 4 month appt. on Thursday, I'm anxious to see where he is at in terms of weight and height!
C has his first ear infection : ( He's been fighting a fever since Saturday and generally pretty clingy and sleepy. I feel so bad for the little guy. I'm also irrationally worried that one ear infection = needing ear tubes. I *know* it doesn't (and after seeing so many success stories here, I know tubes aren't anything to be afraid of), but I'm already worried about it.
Seeing him so quiet and sleepy definitely makes me appreciate how smiley and giggly he usually is. I hope he feels better soon.
He actually STTN this weekend, but I'm sure that's because he wasn't feeling well. Last night he was up twice, but since we're supposed to be giving him lots of fluids, I was more than happy to get up to nurse him. I just hope things even out again when he feels better.
DS is doing spectacularly. I'm constantly amazed by him these days. He can count to ten (he skips 4 and 8, but it counts, right?) and knows seven colors. He is consistently speaking in 3 word phrases and is working on real sentences.
We started some form of potty training today. Maybe it's pre potty training? Back when he was still in cloth diapers, he was well on his way to potty training. He was announcing when he was wet or poopy and would even sometimes announce it before he went. When he outgrew that size of the cloth, I decided to not bother moving to the next size since he'd probably be potty training really soon. Well, he regressed thanks to the super absorbancy of disposables. So, I put underwear on under pull ups today, and so far we're doing well. He's telling me when he's wet again, and even tried to pee on the potty once today so that "No Grover wet". No luck as far as that goes, but considering that yesterday he was terrified of the potty, I think it's great! Cross your fingers that things will continue to progress!
Henry is doing great. He is saying more and more words everyday, which is so fun. And he really seems to understand almost everything I say to him. I think he's getting another molar, so he's had some fussy days/waking in the night. I can't believe he's almost 18 mos old. What happened to my little baby??
We are doing very well in our household. DD's top two teeth came in so now she has 4 teeth. She LOVES eating Cheerios. I set her in the high chair and as soon I get out the box, her whole body starts shaking with excitement. There are no signs of crawling yet but she's a very active and happy baby. She loves banging things together and making noises. She also babbles constantly and it's so easy to make her laugh with funny faces, dances, etc. She is still having some problems with constipation but we are working through those and trying to get her more regular. Many of you know that I've gotten into photography lately. Well, DD has now learned that when I get out the camera, it's fun time (because I do things to make her laugh). So, now when I get out the camera she gets excited and starts smiling and laughing. It's so cute. Overall, she is just is just a true joy and a wonderful blessing in our lives.
I'm feeling great! I'm 17 weeks, and it boggles my mind that I'm almost halfway through this pregnancy. I developed a definite "bump" during the last week, which is kind of weird, but kind of cool.
Many months ago, I signed up to run a half-marathon in March, and I really hope I can still do it. I've significantly dialed down my exercise routine, but I ran 8 miles on Saturday and it felt really good. My main problem is that I feel like I need to pee *constantly* when I'm running. It's very uncomfortable. But other than that, running still feels awesome.
DS had his 15 month appointment last week, and his head is on the chart for the first time (he has a really big head). Now it's down to the 90th percentile.
He's cutting an eye tooth and has a cold, so he wasn't as chipper as usual this weekend--poor little guy.
The communication difficulties have started to arise a little. There are certain toys that he expects to be played with a particular way--but I have NO idea what he wants, and he'll break down and cry. But overall, he is just more and more fun every day.
This pregnancy is going by SO fast! I want to move DS into another room and use his current room as the nursery again, but I am having trouble finding inspiration for DS's room. Hopefully something comes to me soon!
I feel pretty good--the round ligament pain has been getting pretty bad the past couple of weeks (I didn't have any with DS) but other than that, I really don't have much to complain about.

I haven't been on the board much lately, but i am glad to see that everyone is pretty well! I love seeing all the tickers with time flying by for the pregnant ladies, all the new babies, and how big so many of the others are getting.
Lu turned 1 on the 10th. She is such a big girl now. She is trying words, babbling up a storm, walking everywhere, telling me no and shaking her head at us...good times! :-) She amazes us every single day.
Big shout out to Dr. Ferber! YOU ARE AWESOME!!! Thank you for giving us our sleep back! Lu is more rested as well. Turns out we were all keeping each other awake!
DD continues to amaze and entertain me daily with her imagination, creativity, and vocabulary. She has recently been telling "jokes" (what she calls a joke...two-year-old humor). I'm already getting sad about her going to preschool next fall and not being my little shadow 24/7. She fully understands the mechanics of using the potty and the reward system I'll use to bribe her...she's just stubborn and doesn't want to start trying. We'll wait a little longer before starting to really push it.
DS is a happy, easy baby for the most part...I love having a baby boy. Still working on consistently sleeping longer stretches at night - one night he'll go 7 hours, the next he'll go 2. DH has been working awful hours, so I hate to subject him to letting DS cry it out a bit. He's doing two decent naps in the crib most days with a minimum of fussing, thankfully. He has zero interest in solids...we've been trying for a month. I'm surprised, since he's got a ravenous appetite, and DD took to them right away. I don't care, other than it might help him sleep better at night. Also, he still thinks the bottle is his enemy, so being on call as his only source of food is my role for the near future. Out of nowhere, he rolled tummy-to-back repeatedly last Monday, and he's almost able to go back-to-tummy - 90% there but gets stuck on his arm. DD never rolled (until after she started walking), so this is new to me!
Just in the last week, DD has shown a lot more interest in DS, probably because he can interact better. So cute watching him grab her shirt and hair and make her laugh, and they have "conversations" of squeals and shrieks. When she offered him her beloved stuffed penguin, I figured she had fully accepted him
Man, this is a busy post today! I will have to go back and read it
We are doing great! Morning sickness is gone (yay!) but vertigo and some headaches remain but at a slower rate. That, I can live with! Our big ultrasound is next week and I'm nervous, excited, can't wait...yada yada Was supposed to have a cardiac echo done for my pre-existing issues but had to reschedule that due to work, so I hope my cardiologist doesn't mind...makes me nervous rescheduling that esp with dizziness going on so I may email him...think he'll mind? haha
Great updates! We are doing really good in our house. DD is 16 months and is running/climbing/dancing/etc. She loooooves dogs and is constantly chasing and hugging our dog, her word for doggie is pretty cute. Her favorite activity is to rearrange toys and anything she is strong enough to move. She can now listen to instructions: for instance, if we ask her to get the red ball she'll find it, and she knows some of her book titles. She's still a little quiet with talking but we know she'll get there. The way she babbles I'm sure she'll be talking her head off soon enough!
We've recently started talking about ttc#2 so now we have to figure out how to move DD from her nursery to our current office/guest room. The nursery furniture is huge, and gender neutral, so we'll keep it as is and then move her to the other room. It already has a double bed so it will be interesting to see how she'll go from a crib to a double bed
During the snowpocalypse, DS rolled over from tummy to back for the first time, and my dad was watching on Skype! That was awesome. He's also really interested in putting everything in his mouth, and just figured out how to pull his socks off. He's a champion drooler, and I love his laugh. Baptism is set for weekend after next!
Love reading everyone's updates! LO is 9 months today! He's doing really great. Overall, he's such a happy little guy. People are constantly commenting about his great disposition. He's not crawling on his hands and knees yet but he is inch-bugging/army crawling everywhere. He recently started letting us leave the room while he's playing so that's been nice. He was a champion eater until about a week ago but now it's a crap shoot. Sometimes he's great sometimes he pitches a fit like no other. Apparently, my H and I both had temper tantrums as children so we're in for a wild ride. Yikes! He's still on 100% BM and I feel so blessed to have been able to keep up with him. It has not been easy. He's "talking" a lot but no real words just yet. We think we heard "dada" a few days ago but it's not consistent and it's definitely directed at daddy. He's been sleeping from 7-6:30 for about 2 months now and it's been AMAZING! There is hope for you folks that are still trying to get your LOs to sleep. He's a small guy for his age so that is constantly on my mind but on the positive side he's been in the same clothes for months and he's easy to carry around. We're starting to think about 1st b-day. I can't believe it!
For us: DD1 is a handful, and pretty much refuses 95% of all photo taking. She is obsessed with being called 'princess' and with the 'Little Worm-aid.' And my iPhone. DD2 is getting her 8th and 9th teeth, and I can't wait for them to be in and the fussiness to be over. She is learning words slowly, and definitely has her own ideas about things. I'm still waiting for the morning sickness and crazy hormones to subside, and I think I have the beginnings of a bump!
Re: February *check-in!*
Hope everyone else is doing great!
We're doing great... My LO will be 5 months old this week, and I can't believe how fast time flies! She has now rolled over a few times -- of course, the first 3 times were for my parents when I wasn't around. I've only seen it once, but my DH has seen it a couple times.
Good morning everyone!

Hello ladies!
But otherwise, so far, so good!
this is so fun reading everyone's updates!!
Scary!
Hi Ladies
I am doing well! I am consistent lurker of the board but most mostly on 2nd Tri and sometimes the nest GP board. DH and I are expecting our first child in mid June and I am so excited but also very overwhelmed as I have no clue what to expect. We are having an unmedicated birth with the midwives at Birthcare in Alexandria.
I spent 10 days in the hospital due to a sentinel bleed from placenta previa. I am thrilled to be home and back to bed rest on my comfy couch.
Both babies are doing well weighing in at 3.10 and 4.3.

Looking forward to the next milestones, and the day he decides to sleep through the night.

baby blog/cooking blog

were just about 8 weeks old and I already cant remember life without him.
Have a great week everyone!
Alice
I'm feeling a little jealous of all the updates about good sleepers
I'm trying to kick a cold while getting up too many times at night.
Hope not!
Hi all!
Colton update:
Doing well here!

Our big ultrasound is next week and I'm nervous, excited, can't wait...yada yada
Was supposed to have a cardiac echo done for my pre-existing issues but had to reschedule that due to work, so I hope my cardiologist doesn't mind...makes me nervous rescheduling that esp with dizziness going on so I may email him...think he'll mind?

Great updates!
It's nice to get to 'know' everyone on here!
