If you had carpal tunnel while pregnant...

how long before it went away after you had your LO?  I understand that for some people it may not go away but I'm hoping I'm not one of those ladies.  It sucks!

  • I want to say maybe 6-8 weeks. It was the WORST. :(

  • I was told I had that.  I had a herniated disc in my neck.  I still have it.  It has become much, much worse.
  • There's hope! Seriously, it was like the day I delivered. Sometimes I wonder if I just didn't notice it in the hospital, but I swear it was like it instantly went away. I know by the time I wrote thank yous for the gifts we got when we got home, it was gone. I hand wrote 80-some Christmas cards that year and thought I was going to die! It DOES suck. Good luck.
  • OMG my carpal tunnel made me so miserable. It was horrible.

At delivery, it got about 60-70% better. The remaining 30% went away within 4 weeks.

I was worrried it would never go away. My OB said most people don't have it anymore 6 weeks pp.

Relief is coming! Hang in there!

  • Mine did not go away.  It got less worse (I won't call it better!) when I was not pg after the first 3 pregnancies.  I first had carpal tunnel problems while pg with DS#1, 15 years ago & it's worse now, actually, than while I was pg the first 3 times.
