Ok, so we are probably going to use the Skip Hop On the Dot crib bedding for our next baby boy, due July 1. I got my swatches from Land of Nod today in the mail and think I would love to do gray/aqua walls and then pops of a couple bright colors that match the bedding. First, how do you think this sounds? And second, I have noticed with a lot of more modern/contemporary nurseries, there are a ton of colors and there is not really a coordinated color scheme. What do you think of this look? Versus having 3-4 set colors that you will use throughout the room. Sometimes the rooms look a little random to me but I'd love to hear what other people think on this design strategy. I don't need "matchy matchy" but something in between I guess...
Hope this makes sense! Share your thoughts...
One example I just ran across..
I think this room is really cute but there seems to be no cohesive color scheme... apparently that is what they are going for but would love to hear how someone would choose a couple key colors to go with the bedding (or the bedding I am using
).
Re: Color/coordination philosophy for nurseries...
I have this bedding! I have been pleased with it. I did a light grey on the walls and have espresso furniture (bed, chair, changing table) and white room molding and white book shelves. I would not consider mine a modern room though. I used a lot of accents of red and then have pulled in a few other colors. I got a lot of cute art from etsy and then I have had custom art done too. I wanted something that I could use different colors with and not have to be tied to 3/4 colors. Although I am sticking to just a few accent colors it is nice to know that I can add a splash of a different color here or there if need be.
Not sure how to load pics on here but message me and I will be happy to email you pics if you are interested. I am waiting on just a few more things to have the room complete but you can get the overall look. BTW..I found the bedding for 170ish..just google the skip hop mod dots and places and prices should come up. HTH!
