We went to the RE this am to get some results from some genetic testing MH had done 6 MONTHS ago (don't let Canadian healthcare fool you. It's not that great. Takes ages). The results were all good.
My RE (as some of you may recall) is a cow. So she goes:
"If this pregnancy isn't viable, we'll need get right down to it with next steps. So let's do a u/s and see what's up and we can plan from there. At your age over 50% of your eggs are no good you know".
Uh, okay. (we have an 8 week u/s scheduled for next week). So 1/2 hour later, dildo cam.
And there it was, heartbeat, fetal pole. "Big, strong one" says the RE. I thought MH was going to fall over.
So.....
OMFG. I am having a baby. (expanded blog post on that to come).
We are still going for the u/s next week, her machine is crappy and MH really wants the picture. Ha.
I don't know what I would do without you girls. I mean that from the bottom of my heart. Truly truly truly.
Re: Adventures at the RE this morning...
Isn't seeing that heartbeat the most amazing thing ever??? At this point they're not exactly looking like cuddly little babies or anything, but my god. That little flicker is just incredible.
Congrats, mama!!!! We'll raise a glass of wine and toast together come October!!!
WOW! What a wonderful surprise for you and Jack. I'm so happy for you both.
Does Jack have any spreadsheets in the planning phase? He makes me laugh!
You know this is it, right? You're going to be a Momma!!!
Yay! I'm so excited for you! I know I said it before, but H&H 9 months and

This post makes me so happy! Beyond happy. YAY!
Now, promise us you'll stick around, 'k? We need you to cheer us on. And we need continual updates on the cow that is your RE.
I'm a passivist, but truly, I could smack her. Truly.
But enough about her!
Jack and Cat are having a baby!

I am so happy for you!!!! You're having a baby!!!! Jack gets to create more charts (I can just see the pee/poo/feed charts when you bring the LO home)!!! It's a happy day!!!
and fyi, I think you're RE either a) needs to spend some time alone with the dildo cam or b) needs to have the stick removed from her arse.
I got misty reading this post, I look forward to your blog post. I am so happy for you! Your RE does sound like a cow, but I'm so glad she was able to give/show you good news!
Selfishly, I hope you will stick around to update us and share your wisdom and humor.
Congrats again!
Hi Cathy, so excited to hear your news! I wish you a very H&H 9 months my dear! It is quite the journey!

OMG Cathy I am tearing up - I am so SO happy for you!!
Re your RE, I hate it when Doctors are so scientific and don't have a good bedside manner.

Congratulations Cathy! I must say I got a bit teary eyed reading your post, but I am so happy for you. Your RE is a COW!! I hope you stick around. I live vicariously through you and the others who have gotten pg. It keeps my hope alive.
Congrats again, can't wait to see pics of the LO.
OMFG is right! Hallelujah ***waves hands in the air****
SOOOOOOO happy for you Cathy!!
awesome, awesome, awesome news Kathy. So glad to hear everythig went so well and how cute that your H wants a pic-priceless.
OMG Cat really is having a baby, how absolutely fabulaous!
I am so happy for you and Jack, congratulations! All the luck in the world for your wonderful journey!
Every success I see on this board inspires me to go on to another cycle.
HOW DARE YOU...make me get goose bumps and teary eyed before my first cup of coffee!!! I am over the moon for you!! You've been such an inspiration for us on here and I'm overjoyed at the thought of you passing along such traits to your little peanut.
**doing a little happy dance on my way to the coffee maker**
Yay! OMG! Yay! OMFG!
Holy goodness, congrats, Cathy - this makes it "official". Ok, so now this means that you've got to put up a ticker, too!
You and your H deserve those pictures of the LO next week! I'm just so happy for you!
OMG girls.
Thank you so very very much for the good wishes.
I am finding it difficult to reconcile the fact that it's game on. I know lots about ttc, but nothing about the baby thing. The only time I've seen a nipple shield is at a strip club. And onwards.
Thanks again. The support around here is so magnificent it's hard to put it into words (and ya know I'm not one to be stuck for a word!)
Awesome! Such a great feeling:)
BTW...luv your blog
