I know it's not nest-cool to be excited about my tax refund

but holy crap....I cannot believe how much we are getting back this year.  Yeah, whatever, it was an interest-free loan that we let the government use all year, but I really did not expect to get much back after mh goofed up his withholdings for part of the year.  I was more than pleasantly surprised when I finished our return this afternoon!  Now, if only I didn't bills to pay with it and could use it for something fun like home improvements or a vacation ;)

    I'm uncool too. :) I got our refund a couple days ago, it's great GETTING money and not owing it in.

    Yay!  We do the same thing (anticipate a high tax refund) and use it to pay our annual property taxes.  Not very fun, but it is nice not to have to pull $9,000 out of savings and use it for taxes.  Works for us :)  Glad you're getting back a large amount!!!

    Yeah, most of them would poop a brick if they saw how much we got back this year, but I don't care.

    This is the first year that we GOT a refund in ages. DH owed many thousands in back taxes, and getting a refund means that we finally paid it all off. Go, us!

    You have no idea. It was the last of a LOT of debt that he had before we got hitched. Now maybe we can start beefing up those retirement and savings accounts.

    But some of the refund will be going to a new laptop and the kids' bedroom furniture in the new house.
