I have interviewed people when I was working as a lawyer, but interviewing a nanny, in my home, is very different. We are meeting with a potential part time nanny tomorrow morning. She comes highly recommended and I already have a good sense of her experience and qualifications.
If you have interviewed nannys before, how do you go about it? Do you just hang out in your house with the kids running around and casually get to know each other? Do you sit down at the table? I have a list of questions but if anyone has a list to share, I would love that too.
Thanks so much
Re: How do you conduct your nanny interviews?
I had a short phone conversation to get basic history and qualifications and used the face-to-face interview as a chance to really look at personality. I worked in the home so I needed someone that **I** clicked with. I also wanted to see what types of things she was comfortable doing with DD (I really liked her to be out and about and I wanted to make sure the nanny would keep up with that).
It was basically just an hour long "getting to know you" conversation.
