FFFC...I feel bad I can't do it all...

I'm a 2nd year law student, i just came back to school this semester.  I came back as full time, taking 12 hours but I'm going to have to drop 3 hours b/c its just too much right now....

I've never dropped a class...not even in undergrad...I kinda feel like i should be able to handle all this but I know i'm making the right decision.  This way I'll have more time at school to study and more time at home for him.  I know it'll get easier for me to be fulltime in the fall when he's in fulltime daycare.

Do you ever feel like you failed when you can't do it all?

Re: FFFC...I feel bad I can't do it all...

  • Knowing your limits is healthy for you and for all around you.

I could sit here and feel like a failure all day long because the gutters are caked with ice, the garage is a mess, my washer has a bunch of icky gunk in it, and the pile of crap I want to sell at the yard sale needs to be much larger or I'll never get the third bedroom cleaned out.

But, I have been great at spending time with LO, working with her, reading and  talking with her, and that is what is the most important to me. Ya can't do it all, and if you can seem to do it all, you are probably going to get burnt out really fast.

And may I add, I love your siggy pic.

  • I think most parents feel like that at one time or another.  Good for you for continuing your education!  You are not failing.  Give yourself a break : )
  • Being a mom to an infant and in law school is HARD.  I'm graduating in May and remember second year was the absolute worst, but you can get through this.  Feel free to PM me and we can talk more specifically (if I can help).
