I dont own a stroller. I own an Ergo and a Hotsling that I use daily. We havnt found the need for a stroller yet and am just starting to look into it now. We live in Coquitlam which is about 45min from Vancouver where the Olympics are. We will be going downtown to see all the Olympic hoopla & dont know if we should just bring a backpack (diaper bag) & our Ergo or if we should borrow a stroller? Would you go that far from home for probably about 4hrs with only an Ergo?
Any tips from successful BW outings would be appreciated!
P.S We are most likely driving to a skytrain station and taking that, you can take strollers or carriers on it. So we will be 45min away from our car too while were gone.

Re: Would you go on a daytrip without a stroller?
I agree with PP. When we've gone downtown, I feel sorry for the parents trying to get through the crowds with strollers. There are so many people, I was so glad to have DD in our Ergo.
GL and have fun!!
If it's a really crowded event like a festival or the Olympics, I would never bring a stroller.

Also, I'd bring both the hotsling and the Ergo, since it sounds like he's used to being in both.
That way, if he wants to have a look around, you can pop him in the hotsling in a hip carry but for naps or longer walks, throw him on your back in the Ergo.
Plus it will give your body a break having two carriers to switch things up with.

I went to the state fair for the day with no stroller (had DH along), sightseeing in DC (with DH), and to the zoo for the day without one by myself.
Totally doable especially since there are two of you. I'd hate to have to have a stroller in a crowd.

I'd toss a lightweight blanket in your diaper bag. If he gets sick of it you can always let him have some blanket chill out time if you can find an out of the way space. Even when M was in his "I don't want to be carried" phase, it was only refusing our carriers but was content in arms. With two of you I wouldn't worry too much. You can always play pass the baby.
I wouldn't take a stroller especially if it will be busy. I carried DD at the children's museum the other day for about 6 hours with no problem. I used to carry DS for several hours a day without a stroller.
