He had an appointment at MD Anderson on Tuesday and decided with his doctors that he is too weak to undergo further treatment. My mom is looking into hospice. Even though we knew his diagnosis was terminal, this is still really hard to hear. Many thanks to everyone who has sent good thoughts and prayers his way. Only 20% of pancreatic cancer patients survive the first year so I know that helped him to beat those odds.
Re: My dad is stopping treatment
I'm so sorry, Babs. <<<hugs>>>
So sorry babs...you have to know this is for the best. Cancer does suck but flat out...chemo is a b!tch!
I'm sure you know this already but this very possibly the hardest decision he has made. Many patients struggle with this decision because they feel that others will see it as them 'giving up' but truly it is not. At some point I think the patients just have to recognize that their body cannot take it anymore.
Love and support to your family!
Oh, I am so so sorry, Babs! Thinking of you and your family....

I am so sorry your family is dealing with this. Pancreatic cancer f@cking sucks!! One of my best friends lost her mom to it at the end of last year, and I've seen how difficult it was for her family to watch her mom go through the treatments.
Continued prayers for your family!
