Pregnant after a Loss

Queasy versus Gagging

I started out spending a lot of time feeling queasy.  This lasted from 5-9 weeks or so and then it seemed to get better.  I can't complain too much - while I was queasy much of the time, I didn't throw up too often - a few times/week.

Weeks 9-10 were wonderful.

The last few days, I can't seem to wear a scarf, button my jacket up too high, swallow a pill or do anything to tease my gag reflexes.  Even lowering my chin to my chest!  Once I get going, that's it.

It seems strange to me that I'll feel fine, but the slightest pressure on my neck makes me lose my food. Anyone else experience the gag thing?

  • I have serious trouble with pills, and I was always a most excellent pill swallower.

  • I know!  I always wondered why people couldn't take pills.  Now I swear I gag looking at them.  Once I take a PNV I throw up within 30 seconds.  If this lasts more than another few days, I'm going to have to see if I can get them in chewable or liquid form!  I had a big plate of spinach for dinner though :)
  • I still have this problem. In fact I started gagging this morning bending over to sort laundry. I am taking gummy vitamins for kids along with choking down my folic acid and baby asprin. I'm getting a little scared this is going to last the whole pg because instead of getting better it's getting worse. I have found that foamless toothpaste has done wonders for being able to brush my teeth without gagging- if you are having that problem.
