I first want to thank you for taking time to "goo" at my child. I love the attention, and knowing that I baked a cute kiddo brings a smile to my face. However, if I have to inform you one more time that "he" is not "handsome," but, rather, "she" is "beautiful," I may have to punch you in the throat. Consider yourself warned.

To keep all confusion to a minimum, notice the pink blanket she always has, as well as the pink outfits, or those with flowers. In the event that she does not have the pink blanket, notice the bow in her hair, m'kay?

Oh, and finally, please do not tell me she "sure is healthy." She's cubby. She's curvy. She's a butterball. All this, I know. Though she is healthy, you don't need to point that out. And, yes, she is my child.

I've got a baldy too. She is always in girly clothes, and yet, idiots still call her 'him'. If you don't know the gender of a baby, simply say "what a cutie'' and leave it at that. Or, say nothing!

We have that problem too. Even though she is decked out in pink, they assume she is a boy because her carseat it brown with blue hoot owls on it. I also get upset when people say, oh wow my little girl was really chunky at that age too. She's 14 weeks and weighs 13 pounds. How is that chunky? Her cousin is 3 weeks younger than her and weighs 15 pounds. Oh well.

Word. DD can be in pink with a frickin' skirt on and we'll still get a "Boy or girl?" question/comment or something similar. Seriously? I mean, SERIOUSLY? I understand the whole gender equality and it shouldn't matter what color they wear but still!!!! People may wanna put a little pink on their boys or blue on their girls but a baby with a bow in their hair? Doesn't that scream GIRL!!!!

Ok, I feel better now.....

Yeah, this happened to us too. How blatantly obvious is it when your boy is decked out in blue with footballs or your daughter in pink and ruffles.

My observation is that while some are just polite, others are just dumb.

I put my girl in football outfits. I like football! I never understood why people got upset when strangers don't immediately know a child's gender. Does it really matter?
