Those who have had summer babies...

What do you tend to put your newborn in clothes wise? I was thinking probably just onesies? Or did you put pants on them as well? My due date is July 5th, so it'll be HOT! LOL TIA!

Re: Those who have had summer babies...

  • Onsies and socks, mostly.  Sometimes little shorts or pants, but mostly just onsies.
promised myself I'd retire when I turned gold, and yet here I am
  • Loading the player...
  • I had a girl so those little carters rompers that are almost just a onesie were what she lived in.
    .
  • I just did onesies, socks and a blanket (if needed), pants if the air conditioning was really low.  But I live in Arizona where it gets to 116.
  • Hi there (and congrats!)

DS was born 6/24. He wore onsies and baby legs for the most part. If we were going to a store or some place where the ac was going to be cranked I had a few long pants/jackets for him.

I was also a big fan of the 1 piece shorts rompers.

  • My NBs (not matter the season) generally wear cotton sleepers all the time. (For DS2) layered with a onesie under and lots of blankets or a bunting thing

    Outfits:

For DD (August)~ onesie dresses, loved them, comfy and so cute

    For DS (September), shortalls

Not a fan of oneies as an outfit

    This.

  • I usually did little outfits.  I had a bunch of little dresses and very lightweight outfits people got me as gifts.

  • Rompers mostly, with socks.  I always had a blanket around in case it was cold inside, but didn't want to dress them too warm b/c they got really  hot in the car seat.

  • DS 1 was born in April, I remember him being in a lot of just onesies all summer...some pants in the evening maybe, and shorts in the day maybe. But mostly onesies.
  • Brooke spent the three months of her life in nothing but a onsie.
  • onsies or little one piece cotton romper things.  It was about 1000 degrees out when he was born!

  • Thanks girls. That's what I was thinking but since DS was born in November, I wasn't sure what most people do. DH thought that a onesie might not be enough, but I was thinking it's going to be hot so they probably wouldn't need much more unless we were inside in the air conditioning. Smile

  • DD#1 was a May baby and we live in Texas so hot summer. She was in onesies most days or little rompers/dresses. She also was a big spitter so there were plenty of days when DH came home from work and she was just in a diaper b/c I refused to go through fifty outfits a day.  I swear, I don't think he thought I ever dressed her unless we left the house.  Either way, onesies and little rompers are the easiest things and worked best for us.

    Same here.

These.  They are basically a onesie with a ruffle on the butt. Smile If we weren't leaaving the house she just had a t-shirt and diaper on.

  • I put her in a short sleeve 1 piece sleeper...it was hot but I wanted her covered to protect her from the sun.  Once we got home I put her in a onesie.

  • mainly onsies only.  on cooler days I put pants/shorts on.
  • I dressed both babies (one Sept. baby and one late March baby) the same....gowns with sleeves unless we were going somewhere and needed to be able to buckle them into the carrier.  In that case, I'd dress them in short sleeved onesies with pants.  Footed sleepers worked well for both babies too.  We have the air conditioner on so sleeves and covered legs were a must regardless of when they were born.  I've never had my babies wear just a onesie without anything on their feet and legs.

  • DD was born at the end of May, and that whole summer was super hot. She wore mostly onesies or dresses (or onesie dresses).

  • I had 2 june babies....

For the whole first month, honestly, we didn't go outside very often and all inside places are pretty well air-conditioned---i.e. cold...so I had my kids in sleepers.  or a onesie and a blanket.  Just until my kids were a bit chunkier and I wouldn't worry about them freezing.

After the first month or so, then I definately did the carter onesies that have the little skirt for Audrey.  And reg romper type onesie for Mitch..but still kept blankets near for if we went into a chilly place.
