Baby Names

Ok, who's up for a baby-namin' challenge??? Need help!

Ok, we are STUCK trying to find boy names. We will find out the sex on Mar. 1, but in the meantime, I just KNOW this baby is a boy, so I'm trying to get a jump start on finding a name.

Our rules for a boy's name are:

1. Can't end in N, S, K (C), G or N.

2. Two syllables, stress on 1st (like Sandy) or three syllables, stress on the middle (like Isaiah).

3. Nothing too traditional/boring or Biblical (like Michael, Matthew, etc.), super trendy (Aiden, Noah, etc.), or ethnic (Lorenzo, Dante, etc.).

The fourth rule is that it can't be the name of someone we know, which obviously will be tough for people to guess. :)  But with the first three rules in mind, does anyone have any good suggestions??? I'm so tired of using the baby name sites and coming up with nothing I like...help!!

TIA!

  • Thanks so much! I actually do like Asher, but DH mentioned that it's traditionally a Jewish name, so I'm unsure about using it since we're not Jewish. (Would it be like using a French name when we're not French?) I also like Spencer and Sawyer...kinda like Jonah but Dh doesn't, and it also reminds me for some reason of the Jonas brothers. :S I know, I'm weird and picky!

  • Thanks, laurasusan - I'm on the fence about Leo, will put it on the list...Garrett, I don't like just because our last name starts with a hard G as well, and I'm anti-alliteration. :)

Poor DH, he's so easy-going and laid-back, how did he end up with a type-A like me? LOL

Okay, I typed in your requirements to Baby Name Wizard (again, apart from stress patterns) and got these (plus a lot more):

Abram, Adam, Albert, Aldo, Alex, Amir, Archie (Archibald), Ari, Arthur, Barrett, Baxter, Benedict, Bennett, Bradley, Brody, Cabot Callum, Caleb, Campbell, Carlisle, Cecil, Chandler ...

Okay, the list is too long!

Here is the link to all of the names (over 100) --> HERE

    Hope that helps!

    Thanks!!! I'll check it out...

Hmm...I had no idea Asher was traditionally a Jewish name. It is one of the top names on my list and I am not affiliated with and religion, so...oh well.

Asher is one of the twelve tribes of Israel, but I think because it sounds so "British" or even "American" that it's accessible to anyone regardless of ethnicity or religion. Keep in mind Ethan is also biblical. Doesn't seem like it, does it?
