How do you run a background check?

I'm looking into different DCP.  One is in the process of becoming licensed and she does not have a background check but said I can run one on her.

I have one on myself.  I used to be a DCP.  However, when I go to keep my information current, I just resign my forms, say I haven't done anything wrong, and they send me my info back.  I've had one for 6 years so I don't even remember how I got it initially- likely through the place I volunteered at my freshman year of college.

I'm guessing that I'll need her SSN and for her to sign something to authorize it.

  • If you google them you can find out all the counties they have lived in.

from there, just search that county's municipal court pages.

TY for the link!  And yeah, I think I am, as long as I can find great care for DS.  I was really unhappy doing the home daycare thing.  I've been feeling extremely lonely and isolated.  I've been craving adult interaction.

I don't want to go back into teaching.  With what early ed teachers get paid, I would break even.  I've been wanting to do something different for a while but because my degree is so specific, this has been so hard to do.

Well, it's all about who you know right?  DH got me an interview in his company.  The interview is on Friday and I'm SO nervous for it.  Now I have to answer questions regarding finance when I'm used to answering questions about teaching philosophies and curriculum.

The hours I'm looking at are great.  Jack will only be in daycare a few hours a day.  I will only be working 20 hours which is the absolute max I'm willing to do right now.   I'll get a beautiful thing called sick and vacation also Big Smile
