2nd Trimester

Trouble getting out of bed... literally.

Not from tiredness or anything.   ;)

Sometimes I literally feel like i have a bowling ball preventing certain movements...especially when it's 5am and I have to go to pee for the 3rd time.   I have to hoist my legs straight up and fling them down fast to propel me up.  It's like a slingshot maneuver!  My husband thinks it's cute but i can only imagine when I get bigger.... i'd bet I won't be able to do that.

Anyone else have some funny or funny-looking ways of getting out of bed?  (from a perfectly flat position)

  • I roll out of bed..literally. Pregnant or not, it is just easier because our bed is tall and I am not. Best way for me not to fall!

  • I too literally roll outta bed.  Its quite difficult these days to get in and out of bed.....even getting up off the couch requires an extra heave ho push!  LOL

  • I have the same problem a lot. I tend to sit on the floor frequently and can't just stand up. Have to flip to my knees, grab hold of something and push up. lol.

If you knew how lonely my life has been And how long I've been so alone And if you knew how I wanted someone to come along And change my life the way you've done

  • I usually don't say this but it is nothing now just wait till you actually have something the size and weight of a bowling ball in your stomach!

  • After having DS via c-section, I had to come up with ways to get out of bed without using my abdomen muscles. I realized over time that I still do it, I guess out of habit. I sort of scoot my legs of the bed and roll to my side while lifting off with my elbow.
  • My doctor told/showed me the proper way to sit up after laying down. He said to roll onto my side and push up with my elbow. If I use my abs, I can pull my hip flexors or other muscles. Smile
