Travel system recs?

I need some help picking out an infant car seat and stroller combo. As my daughter is now 6, I've been out of the loop on this for awhile. I also, no longer have either of hers. Any advice on them especially safety and comfort is much appreciated! TIA!

Re: Travel system recs?

  • I went with the Chicco Key Fit 22. Its #1 in safety according to Consumer Reports. I was between that and the Graco Snug Ride. I liked the Chicco better when I played with it in the store. I suggest finding a few that have good recs. and then going and checking them out in a store like BRU.

  • Safety 1st Aerolite LX. It's very light weight, yet sturdy, we really liked the look of it and it was so incredibly user friendly!!! Very easy to maneuver, attach/detach car seat, fold with one hand, etc... Plus DH likes that it has the side impact "air bags" on the car seat."

  • I think the Graco Stylus is the #1 rated best buy for travel systems on Consumer Reports.  It's what we've registered for.  It's also got pretty good reviews...I think I checked what people said at Babies R' Us.  It comes with the Graco Snugride 35 now (i think), which is supposed to be a safer car seat then the previous Snugride models.  But Consumer Reports published their reports on it quite yet.

  • Chicco, Baby Trend and Graco front adjust.  These tend to be easy to use and install.
  • We got the Chico key fit 30. DD is only 6 weeks old, but so far I really like the car seat. The stroller is very nice, but very heavy! Both seem to be great quality and had good reviews. I have been using my "Snap and Go" stroller more often, but will probably use the Chico for longer summer time walks.
