I am 34 weeks pregnant and this girl doesn"t have a name. Freaking out and driving myself nuts

My husband and I just don't know what to name her.  Some nights I am in tears.  This shouldn't be that hard.

Here are some ideas but we aren't in love with any of them...

Kristin Anne

Kristin Anneliese

Anneliese (Anna) Lillian

Anna Lillian

Charlotte Anne

Leah Anne

Ashley (my hubby)

Allison (my hubby)

Lauren Anne

Molly Anne

Help me use Anne somehow in a beautiful, classic name.  That won't be so popular and won't ever go out of style.

  • I love Anna!  It's classic, but definitely not over used.

  • I really like the name Anna. Try something like Anna Charlotte or Anna Kristen.

  • What about Anastasia.  Call her Anne or Annie or Ana.
  • Are you pronouncing Anna like "Ann-ah" or "Ah-na"?

    I'm l-o-v-e the name Anneliese.

Out of your names I like Anneliese Charlotte or Anneliese Lauren

  • Ann-ah I would pronounce it.  My moms name is Anne and I want to somehow use it cause we are so close.  Its my middle name too and my grandmothers middle name.

  • I love Lauren Anne and Charlotte Anne-those are beautiful!
  • oh!  My best friend is a Leann you could always change the spelling a bit.

  • I am so afraid of being in the hospital doing this to myself for four nights and still not liking a name.  I am totally overthinking this I think.  We leave it be for weeks and then come back to it, but that doesn't seem to help.  Now I am just getting so close and so fast, its scaring me a bit.  If I don't love something, I am sure it will grow on me once we name her, right...

  • DD went the first day with no name.

DS went 3 days with no name.  It's ok, you can't go home with a nameless kid, you'll get there :-)

  • This might not be exactly what you want to hear, but just don't stress out about it. Who says that a baby has to have a name already picked out before being born?

We were in a similar position with our dd, couldn't think of a name at all. She was born and didn't have a name for the first couple of days. It gave us a chance to try out a few different names until we found one that truly seemed to fit her. I'm quite certain that she's not going to suffer any psychological trauma later in life for remaining nameless those first few days. What's the worst that could happen if you don't have a name picked out by the time you go into labor? Plus, even if you had a name selected, there's always a chance that once she is born you'll take one look at her and decide that the name just isn't going to "fit" her.

Oh, and FWIW, we finally decided on Anna Pearl for dd.  It's perfect for her.

  • My DD is Anna Reese and I get tons of compliments about it.
  • i liked your leah anne and kristin anne (the whole classic, won't go out of style thing)  actually they are all good names (maybe that's why you are having a hard time, too many choices).   i also like ella anne and elizabeth ann, emily anne i like the "e" with anne

  • You are so right Cleo.  My son was nameless for a day or two, but we had a short list of a few we really liked.  I guess I do have a list...and I keep going back to my originals, so it must be in there.  Maybe I just won't love something till I see her.

  • You have some really pretty choices above!  My name is Anne, so I am a bit biased :)  If DS#2 had been a girl, he would have been Madeline Anne.  I love Charlotte Anne & Lauren Anne, too- very pretty!!  I also really like Katherine Anne (we have a Katherine Grace).

GL!!  Maybe when you see your DD, the "right" name will hit you.  I was supposed to be "Sarah", but when my dad saw me, right after I was born, he said I didn't look like a "Sarah".....so I got "Anne"  :)

  • I think Molly Anne is precious.

I also like Kristin Anne, but that's only because it's my older sister's name (but she goes by Kris and her middle name is just Ann).
