If you can spare some T&P for strength and wisdom I would appreciate them.

This weekend DH, Cadence and I are making a visit to CA that puts us in the middle of a sticky family situation. I am usually an avoider of sticky family situations but my Grandma is 86 and has never met DH or DD and I know if I avoid this any longer she may not have the opportunity to do so. Anyhow, I know this is not life of death but it is rare that I step out of my comfort zone like this. .It would be wonderful if only positives came out of our visit.

Good luck with your trip and with the visit! Very jealous that you're going to CA, but not so jealous of complicated family dynamics, from the sound of things. Do what you have to, but I hope you don't feel you have to do more than you're able to, if that makes sense. Family is family, but everybody's got their own limits to what's tolerable from others, you know? Safe travels!
