If it were me, I'd probably go to a southern beach. It's still warm, but not crowded at all. Maybe Savannah, Charleston or Wilmington. We love Wilmington, but have never been there in the fall. So it may not be that good of a suggestion since I don't know anything about that time of year.
i firstly vote for NYC. it is the BEST!!! but i also vote for chicago b/c that's where i am!!!
philly and ac are strange. everything at philly closes at like 7 which weirded me out. i had to live there for 2 weeks when i was in rehearsals for a show once and it just was an.... interesting town. pretty architecture though.
and ac is skeevy. i mean there are some nice hotels there, but you won't want to leave them. there is NO excuse to be so close to nyc and actually be there!

It is so hard. I love Philly and D.C. soooooo much!!
I love getting a hotel room at the Jefferson (DC) and eating at Old Ebbitt and going all over town. You have to make 100 trips there to see everything, you never run out.
I voted "other." Crush is going on in California wine country in October - it's when they harvest the grapes. We stayed in Sonoma and then went down to San Fran for a couple of days on our honeymoon.

DH and I are going to New Orleans next month for our anniversary. He's never been and I've only gone once for work when I was pregnant. We're really looking forward to it!

October is still hurricane season. Chances are probably pretty low at one of those places. Just something to think about.
Denver! but really...beautiful weather that time of yr...check out a concert at Red Rocks, go to a Rockies game, if you wanted to make a trip to the mtns. go to Grand Lake(not as far as other mtn towns), otherwise go to Blackhawk(casinos), and they recently remodelled this hotel and it is supposed to be wonderful(never been, but going in a few wks).
spend one night in AC at the Borgata and then head down the shore for a fun night of dancing/drinking and a good restaurant. Kind of like Vegas, get in/get out! Only difference is its one night vs. 2/3 nights I can usually handle in Vegas!

what part of philly were you in? were you "of age" when you were here? lolz. everything closes at a 'normal' time, just like every other city!
i was 22. we stayed downtown. even kmart closed at like 7. and walgreens. bars & restaurants were open later, but i thought it was weird that shops closed so early. i have lived in nyc, stl, & chicago and things always stayed open til 9. that was not the case there. pretty city, i just thought it was .... different.

Yeah, this! I'm "down the shore". Oh, and I LOVE the Borgata. DH and I stayed there last month and went to Bobby Flay for dinner. SOOOOO good. The rooms at Borgata are beautiful and there are lots of great bars and things to do there.
I am kind of late but I picked other... I say Vegas all the way. I took DH there for his bithday last year and we both had too much fun. Plus you can always find great deals for flights and hotels. Have fun!

Re: I am forced to do this clicky poll.
NYC all the way! There's so much to do.
If you wanted somewhere tropical Playa Del Carmen is very nice as well!

But Philly is so much fun too!
I voted Chicago because lodging in NYC is so expensive. And, it's such an awesome city. Priceline yourself a 4-star hotel!
In my bag

50mm f/1.2 * 28-85mm (Macro) f/3.5-4.5 * 70-300mm f/3.5-4.5
Opteka Fisheye Adapter * Lightscoop
Or priceline one for NYC. I have never paid more than 130 a night (during peak times) for 4 star hotels in NYC on priceline.

NYC or how about Niagara Falls?
Fresh look at Niagara Falls
Then that means I am forced to get my passport updated with my married name. Hmmm, we have always wanted to go to Niagara....this sucks.
Someone just make the decision and plan everything for me and I will be happy.

sorry, dont know how to make it clicky

But if were driving won't they want to see my passport and something else or am I not thinking correctly?
If you are driving - you don't need to show anything other than your passport. You should be good to go.
OR you can get a passport card which is good for driving and/or sailing to Canada. It's cheaper than a new passport!
all you need is your passport to gain entry to canada. good time to visit too!
Perfect! Now that makes my decision THAT much harder.
wouldn't you have to fly to montreal? otherwise i agree. it is divine.
I clicked other and think you should do something more west.. like Vegas or San Diego.
definitely NYC. niagra is ok, but SOOO expensive. you will pay the same sort of money for things in NYC but have muuch more to see/do.
