Babies: 9 - 12 Months

when did you switch to stage 2 foods?

we feed dd stage 1 gerber right now. she eats the whole container, and depending on which food it is, she sometimes seems like she could eat more.

she is teething, and has 2 coming in right now.

  • I think stage 2 containers all day 6 mo + so you can start them now. We started with stage 2 right away and skipped stage 1.  Now I'm making all my own food and its way cheaper

  • When DD had most of the stage 1 foods. I didn't really notice a difference  in consistency between stages 1 and 2.

  • We skipped stage 1
  • We just started stage 2 and the only difference I noticed was in the amount.  I do like that there are mixed varieties in foods, and not just plain, peas, carrots etc.

  • We didn't start solids until 6 months, and pedi said that since we had waited that long we could just start out with stage 2 foods.  So anytime after 6 months is okay to give them.
  • Pedi just gave the OK to start Stage 2 foods but I haven't done it yet.
