my 20 month old still eats purees.  it's the only way i can get veggies and fruits (besides bananas) into him.  i've just started dumping a fruit and a veggie puree into his sippy with water when we're out to deter the looks.  but bonus: it acts as un-evil juice! i'm also bad with the paci washing.

oh, and DS is still RF, which gets many a side-eye IRL (zomg, his poor legs!!!!!!!!)

You know, that's actually a good idea.  I mean, how is it any different than sneaking in healthy foods in other dishes?  DS was on stage 2 purees until he was 17 months old.  He simply refused table food for the longest time.

I was going to add the RF thing as well.  I don't know anyone IRL who does it, but DS has never known any different so it works for us.

  • He had 2 hot dogs for dinner the other day.  We were at Portillo's w/my sister, DS finished his hot dog and started screaming "dot dog, dot dog" when he saw my nephew eating his.  I bought him another one and he ate the whole thing!

I let him watch TV...but he's become obsessed since being sick a few weeks ago with unlimited TV access.  He also gets dessert every night, usually a cookie (or two), sometimes a rice krispy treat or some sherbert.

  • DD ate french fries & cucumbers for lunch.

She eats french fries often enough. She also eats a lot of fruit & veggies so I don't worry.

She still gets a bottle at night & a bottle during the night if she wants one.

She also still uses a pacifier.

When she cries in the middle of the night I take her to bed with us.

  • DS's favorite toy is a plunger.  pretty much everyone who comes over judges us for this.  oh, and he uses it to attempt to beat the dog with (which we do NOT allow), so at least there's that.

What's wrong with ketsup?  Someone wrote their kid eats ketsup- sign me up for that one too, only way to get DS to eat eggs- I thought it was a good idea! LOL!

And, IRL, I get comments all the time about DS still rear facing.

I got a snarky comment/flame when i said my DD loves ketchup. I was told that she shouldn't eat it because it was bad for her, due to the high fructose corn syrup content, LOL
  • and DS only wears a coat if we're actually staying outside.  He wears a sweatshirt and a hat to and from the car/store/house/daycare etc.  It's not worth the struggle to get him in and out of the coat

  • I put DS to sleep with a bottle of water and sometimes I'll put milk in it for a nap if he's having trouble falling asleep. We're diligent about teeth brushing and I don't brush mine before a nap so I'm not worried about it.

I just started processing DS's meals into almost a fine paste and feeding them to him. He hardly has any teeth and he can't chew most proteins. On top of that, he hasn't gained enough weight since we started table foods at 12 months and I think it's because he'. This is my way of making sure he eats! Plus, it's faster and easier on me. Stick out tongue

DS only gets a bath once every 3 days (unless he's really gross and needs one sooner). He has dry skin. That's my excuse for why.

    I'm sure there are others!

I've lost my temper and yelled at him more than once

Ah, yes, how quickly I forget! I do tend to lose my temper and yell at DS. Not so much that it's a regular thing, but it's definitely happened more than once.

  • DS's favorite meal is hot dogs and cut up cheese.  We give this meal to him waaay too much.

  • I feed him grilled cheese with kraft singles.

I don't try to teach him to count or recite the ABCs.

I let him play with random objects. I've gotton some weird looks when he was chewing on his nose sucker in public. lol
