Please state your reasons for choosing one vs. the other. I'm having a very hard time with this and trying to decide before "the great trade in" at BRU ends on 2/20.
I know a lot of people that rave about the versatility of the travel system. It is bulkier, but it seems to be sturdier. I read a lot of reviews about the snap n go systems and saw many people mention that the stroller is prone to tipping. Whether that's the general consensus, I don't know, but it was a big turn off for me.
My husband and I both like to jog daily so we are investing in a really nice jogging stroller. I plan on using this stroller as our main one and will get a snap and go for our carseat for when the baby is very little.
This makes the most sense to me as I want to spend our money where it counts and don't want to have to store 3 different strollers.
We're leaning toward the travel system. I have heard of the tipping also. Like any item, there will be pros and cons. I'd like to think we won't be very far from a stroller, so it can't tip - but I also know accidents happen (with any product).
We don't use a stroller that much. I shop at stores with carts and very rarely the mall. I have a flight of stairs to walk down from my house and didn't want a heavy stroller to lug around.
We have a Snap & Go--which I LOVED and a Maclaren Triumph (for 3 months+--doesn't fully recline). I also have an old Baby Trend Expedition jogger as a hand-me-down. If I were to do over--I'd get a Maclaren that would fully recline, but I wouldn't get a travel system stroller.
ETA: We also travel a lot on planes--and need something easy for the airport. Yes--the Maclaren is tippy, but only when you've left your bag on the handles and are removing LO from the stroller. It's never tipped with him in it and I don't forsee it happening. Only when I've messed up and not taken the diaper bag off the handles has it tipped.
What we got: Chicco Courtina TS in Discovery. I loved it, but we only used the stroller for 4 months (maybe 20 times total.) DS was in his Britax convertible carseat by 5 months old and we went out an bought a Maclaren Triumph (which I LOVE) and we use that almost everyday. What I would recommend (if I could do it over): A Chicco Courtina car seat w/ a snap and go. Then I'd get a really nice stroller (like a Bumbleride or City Mini Select.) GL!
I tried all the strollers they have at BRU and they were all too bulky and long for everyday use for me. Especially when adding the infant carseat.
I want something super light and easy to manuver while I am using the infant car seat. Also a stroller that doesn't take up much room and is easy to get in and out of the car.
I do not like the looks of the travel system. Too matchy matchy and once again bulky.
I would rather get an inexpensive snap n go while the baby is still in her carseat and then decide down the road what to spend my money on. I don't know anyone who has been able to buy just one stroller for all uses. I have never had to use a stroller before so I have no idea what I will need once she gets here.
We go to the beach and walk on uneven pavement a lot. The strollers that come with travel systems don't have wheels that will work for this.
I could probably go on and on about why I chose a snap n go over a travel system honestly.
I heard a lot of great things about the Snap N Go when I had my first son. But I just couldn't justify spending money on it and then having to get a regular stroller down the road. So we went with a graco travel system and then got a running stroller (DH is a running coach so he used it daily).
Since the running stroller is worn out from daily use and we never really liked the graco, we are upgrading to a BOB revolution for this baby which we can use for running and shopping. It has a optional adapter to use with an infant seat, but I realized that the adapter is more $ than a Snap N Go. So if I had it to do all over again I would get the Snap N Go then the Bob. But since we already have the graco we'll just use that.
A travel system doesn't seem to fit my lifestyle. We are very active & plan to baby wear a lot. We decided to get a Chicco Keyfit infant carseat with a snap & go for when LO is very small/sleepy.
We got a BOB for once LO has head control because I run and we can use it in public or in nature when we aren't wearing LO.
I REALLY wanted a travel system, until I tried out several at BRU. They were not as easy to fold as I thought they would be and the weight was just enough to turn me off. Also, we plan to have another baby w/in the next 2-3 years and if I was going to get a stroller that bulky, it should fit a couple of kids!
So, snap-n-go it is, followed by something light-weight with a small footprint. (Also decided this based on advise from friends and Baby Bargains: "You don't know what will work for you until you have the baby!")
I hated my travel stroller and as soon as ds could sit up we bought a Maclaren and the travel system hasn't been used since. I want a snap and go for baby #2
