So I don't know yet but my doctor thinks I have an ulcer. I'm getting bloodwork done to confirm or deny. The result should be in later this week. It sucks but my first thought is, how will this affect breastfeeding?
The treatment for it is antibiotics and antacids. That should be ok, right, as long as they give me breastfeeding friendly antibiotics?
Ugh, this is so stressful. I have a freezer stash that I think would get me through 2 weeks if I had to pump and dump. I'm wondering if I should pump more now so I can build up even more in the next few days. I'm just worried what this might do to my supply. ![]()
Re: I may have an ulcer (bfing question)
There are lots of antibiotics that are safe for breastfeeding. Just make sure they undestand that you're nursing and things should be fine.
You can always call Motherisk if you don't trust the prescription they give you. https://www.motherisk.org/women/index.jsp they'll go over it with you.
Thanks! That's helpful. I also put a call in to my LC about it.
