9 mo. sleep regression?

I know there is a growth spurt at 9 mo. ?Online, I've seen some info on the 9 mo. sleep regression. ?DS has never been a good sleeper, never STTN, and is capable of waking at the least 2-3 times a night. ?For the past couple of nights he has been waking 7x! ?He is also crawling and learning to pull up, so I don't know if it's because of his milestones, the growth spurt/regression, or his sleep problems that are causing this. ?Anyone else experience worse sleep at this point?

Re: 9 mo. sleep regression?

  • Yes.  I didn't realise there was a growth spurt around then though.  DS seems to not follow the growth spurts too much.  He seems to grow whenever, but that would explain the craziness around here lately.  It does get better though; he seems to be coming "out of it."

  • I think its the milestone mine is also crawling and puling up and I think he want to continue the activity during sleep. So he wake himself up every hour to sit down and cry I have to go to his room lay him down like 13 times before he will sleep after about an hour 30 mins.

I think its getting better each day. My own sleep has been messed up because of these. I swer I'm sleep deprived. He has neverSTTNN  also I just pray everyday for that day to come.

  • My 9-month old is usually a great sleeper:  8pm to 7am like clockwork.  But, in the last couple of weeks, he has been waking sometime between 2am and 5am, needing an extra bottle.  I'm trying to cut out his fifth bottle and get him to taking four 8-ounce bottles, instead of snacking on five 4-6 ounce bottles all day.  So, I was thinking perhaps that was partly the cause of our sleep regression ... another likely suspect is teething.  But, it could be the growth spurt you mention!  My LO has been crawling and cruising for a while now, which really had no impact on our sleep (in fact, he became a better sleeper when he reached these milestones, perhaps because he'd wear himself out with so much activity during the day).
