How long did it take for your swelling/pain to go away?
I had all 4 of mine taken out Friday morning. They were cut out since
they were impacted. The swelling is the worst. I'm taking both Vicodin and Ibuprofen.
they also cut mine because they were impacted. as soon as the swelling went down my pain went away. i had to stop taking the vicodin because i had a reaction to it. so i was stuck with ibuprofen. i lived off of dq's mister mistys for like 3 or 4 days. they really helped with the swelling. i had mine taken out of a thursday and a week later on the friday i was fine enough to go to a Korn concert and scream my head off.. but I was also.. oh 16 when I got them removed.
Oh, no, you poor thing! I had one come in, one impacted and the other two don't seem to exist.
Just wanted to say hope you feel better soon!
Oh, a friend had hers done and filled a tube sock with ice and wrapped around her head so that the ice was against her cheeks and it was tied on the top of her head to help the swelling. She looked funny, but it helped.
I think the hard part is wanting to take care of the house and DS and I just can't. It hurts to bend over from the swelling and I can't stand very long due to the Vicodin (I'm a little bit nauseous and dizzy with it).
I can't wait for this to be behind me so I can feel normal again.
By the 4th or 5th day it was much better. The doc prescribed me 800mg Motrin in addition to the Vicodin, which I think helped more than the Vicodin did. (I had all 4 taken out and also a molar. =( )
It took about 2 1/2 days for the swelling to go down (mine here cut out like yours). I was definitely eating jello and soft foods for about a week. The swishing with warm salt water is the worst! Don't know if you have started doing that yet but it is NOT fun!
Probably a good week or so for the swelling; I had some intense facial bruising too. It definitely took awhile to be able to open my mouth big enough to eat something beyond jello, pudding, applesauce and ice cream, but it wasn't so bad. Hope it gets better soon!
I had all four of mine cut out, and I was on 800mg Motrin by that night. I'd say I have a reasonably high pain tolerance, but I don't honestly remember it being *that* painful or swollen. Bloody and gross, but not painful. I don't think mine were impacted though, just needing to come out.
Sorry you're ouchy.

Thanks everyone! I look awful (and I've got bruising too). lol
