Corn syrup paint question

Has anyone tried this?  Does it actually dry?  It seems like it would just stay tacky.

    It stays tacky. I've done it with my preschoolers lots of times. It's a lot of fun though. Just don't hang it on a wall b/c it will drip.

    You can also make paint by mixing equal parts of flour and water and then adding food coloring. The flour paint will dry and you can keep the artwork.

    Thanks ladies.  Surprisingly the corn syrup has actually dried - it's a nice shiny finish!  The larger thicker spots are still a little tacky 2 hours later but the thinner spots are dry.

    add a little glue to shaving cream and that leaves a nice fluffy texture that dries, also! Lots of fun!

    No kidding?  What a great idea!  Just have to keep those hands out of his mouth until we can get him to the bath!
