What is the tackiest thing you have witnessed?

Backstory: My Uncle is a cheap a$$ creep who is the only one of the siblings that doesnt have children or bills to pay (lives off the system when he is SO not disabled) Indifferent He blew through 75,000 that he got when my grandpa died on gambling & asks all of his siblings to loan him money all the time..my dad is a sucker & always gives it to him.

Anyway, he sends me a card for DS & he has me as the return address & him as the mailing address & put no stamp on it (since I am the return address they mail it to me & he gets away without paying for a stamp) FFS, really?? He is so hard up that my DS isn't even worth under 50 cents!? Who even thinks of something like that?

Ugh..please share!

Lol I always wondered if that would work! I'd thought of testing the post office before, just for fun to see if I could get away with it, but never actually tried. Are you sure he did it b/c he's cheap or is there a possibility he did it to be funny?

Its one thing to do it like once to be funny or to see if it would work but when I told my dad about it he says that's how he gets all his mail from my uncle. I know..it is KINDA funny but if you knew all the back stories you would just think its ridic.

Sorry, can't think of tacky things off the top of my head right now. Just wanted to weigh in and agree that that's pretty sad/bad. Doesn't matter, IMHO, if he was trying to be funny or not. (And given what you've said about him, it doesn't sound like he's trying to be funny, just cheap.) It's wrong and idiotic.

You'd be surprised at how creative cheaters can be.

I do have some relatives who are manipulative and money grubbing. Let's hope them and your uncle never meet. :P

My friend is having her wedding ceremony--she got married in the courthouse several years ago before her husband deployed. No big deal, I understand wanting the white dress and all, but she's registering for a second time! She had a bridal shower and everything the first go-round. This time she's registered for home improvement stuff at Lowe's and Target, and keeps talking about how much she's looking forward to getting new stuff. Indifferent

I will have to let my DH know that this works--he has always wondered!!! I would totally do that to be funny...sounds like your uncle is just cheap. Honestly, I can't think of anything more tacky right now.

Tacky was my mom last night. We had gone out to eat (DH, LO, my parents) and after dinner all of us but my dad stopped at a store next door. My mom wanted to buy a new wallet and after picking it gave it to Kendall to play with. K immediately put it in her mouth and started to chew on it. DH took it away and my mom specifically said "Don't worry, I am going to buy it, let her chew on it". So he did. And right as my mom was paying for her stuff she quickly switched the wallet out with an unchewed one and hid the chewed one behind some stuff. When DH and I said something to her outside the store my mom thought it was funny. We both thought it was really disrespectful to the store.
