    funny. ugh- stats. i'm an academic advisor, and all the students in our department have to take the dreaded stats class.

    I loved my statistics class when I took it.  The professor, however, made all the tests take home with long answers.  He didn't care if you memorized the formulas, he wanted you to be able to interpret/explain the data.

    most of our students have problems not so much because it's stats, but, quite frankly, and i know it's terrible to say this... they can't understand the profs. almost every section is taught by a non-native speaker (from a variety of different countries). they may be good profs, but if the students can't understand what they're saying... well, that's just not good.
