NTR: I don't get it, why is John Mayer apologizing?

So he made some racial remarks.? He's clearly got issues with black people, or as he likes to call us, ni**ers.? He thinks black women are unattractive, and thinks that the devastating consequences of racism go as far as being told a restaurant is full.? He made these comments in an interview to be published, not to his super secret best friend.? So, that's who he is, and that's what he wanted to put out there.? OK.? So what?? If you're a racist a**, say "I'm a racist a**" and don't apologize for it!? I for one am glad that black women the world over are safe from his d*ck.

    it's sad that he can't own it.  he started crying and apologizing at a concert the other night.

    i wouldn't be surprised if he checks into "rehab" soon.

    I agree. He has some serious, deep-seated issues and apologizing onstage isn't going to fix this or him. He needs to go away for a long time and get his head together.

    I don't understand why he apologized either. If that is how you really feel, own it and don't apologize for it. I think issuing a lame as$ apology makes him look like more of a bouche than just keeping his mouth shut.

    I did chuckle at the stuff he said about Jessica Simpson though - who knew she was a freak?

    I think his apology was so insincere and fake too. I think he is a sociopath and if he wasn't famous, he'd probably be a serial killer.

    LOL. Yes, I've been MIA.? My job has gotten so demanding as of late I haven't had much time to do anything other than lurk here or there or log on in the late p.m.? Too bad my job hasn't gotten any more lucrative, unfortunately!? We have today off as a holiday (Lincoln's birthday, don't ask).??

    Meanwhile, I agree with PP's, he's just sorry he got in trouble--although, I mean, really, John, you couldn't see this coming?? And yes, even though I know there's no such thing as "racist rehab," John will be checking into it soon enough.

    The Rolling Stone article grossed me out as well. He talks about his quest for the "Joshua Tree of Vaginas" and goes on and on about masturbation and other egotistical bs.

    I have lost oodles of respect for the man in the last 2 weeks.

    i agree.  i don't really get it.  he had to have know what kind of backlash would come from the interview.  either don't say racist, ignorant things or say them and own them so everyone knows what a douche you are.

     KG - i hope he feels the same about hispanic women too b/c i hope "we" are safe from his d*ck as well.

    he is a piece of sh*t.  I never could stand him or his music, & this article & apology made it 100 times worse.

    I agree. He is just apologizing because he knows that he p*ssed off most of his fans. I like his music, and used to find him attractive in a way but now, he is just a loser, like most celebrities are ending up to be. I was pretty disappointed but if he is what he said, than he should just own it.
