Just curious, because underwears makes me laugh, but what term do you use? Underwear? Panties? Knickers? Unmentionables?

I used to work at Victoria's Secret in college and the company called them panties. My roommate hated the word and yelled at me when I would talk about straightening the "panty table" haha.

I am becoming more fond of underwears myself, as well. But being that I only wear one pair at a time, I don't want it to get confusing.

I think I DON'T say panties because of working there, haha (I hated it). I say underwear. My DH says "man panties" when he refers to his, which completely cracks me up everytime.

Underwear or chonies or chones usually. Although, I do own a preschool and we talk to the little girls about wearing "big girl panties" when we are potty training them. So "panties" doesn't sound naughty/sexy to me at all. It's more of a "grown up" word and makes little girls feel like big girls. *shrug*

However, we usually use the word underwear at preschool .. i.e. "pull up your underwear in the bathroom!"

It's a Mexican slang word.

...as for what we call them, it's draws. As in drawers, but with a southern twang they become 'draws'.

I'd have to say that it depends on the kind! If it's normal everyday stuff, it's underwear. If it's the sexy, "end up on the floor soon" kind, they're panties!

Chonies is Spanish slang. My husband is bilingual but it's a common thing around here. We even use it in the preschool sometimes. I'm white and use it all the time. hahah
