so why does the 1K blogger live that way?

do neither of them work? does she thinks it's how you're supposed to live? (like a nun with no posessions).

This is a serious question. I don't follow her blog except what I hear on here.

JW why her DH doesn't go get a better job or something???

Mom to 2 beautiful girls, 3 yrs and 22 months old. My 2nd was born at 32 weeks due to Rhogam failure/severe complications from Rh disease and is our miracle. She has bilateral auditory neuropathy and a cochlear implant, activated 4/5/2012 at 19 months. Lilypie First Birthday tickers

    he works and goes to school to be a minister (i think)

    and she is a mother/blogger.

     

    she made $1500 last month, from blogging. She isn't living on less than $1k anymore. I say, she needs to get over it. And seek mental help.

    Because she is mentally ill and she and her husband are religious zealots who believe that they've been called to live this way. Oh, and they're  martyrs.

    Her hubby is in a non-accredited college to become a pastor.  She is a SAHM.  Hubby works a job at Walmart and only makes $1K.  She doesn't want to work, or feels her place is in the home with the kids...so this is what they do.  And they do it all without gov't assistance like food stamps, medicaid, WIC, etc.

    eh, some people like the "have less, live more" mentality.  Not a terrible thing.  I don't want to live that way, but I don't know that I can really say how any of us are "supposed" to live.

    I guess it makes sense for her to SAH while her H is at work/school since childcare for three young ones would probably cost more than she would earn, but as far as their other decisions (e.g. not accepting WIC, etc.) her lifestyle does seem a little extreme. I am all for being frugal--we live on DH's modest income--but not nearly THAT low of a standard of living. What bothers me most are all the safety hazards with three young kids. :(

    What I truly don't understand is the amount of cheap crap and clutter she has. She SAYS she's not materialistic, so why does she have so much crap? I mean, if you are living on a limited budget in tiny quarters, you really need a PLASTIC SLIDE in your home? Go to the free public playground, fruitcake.

    People in NYC live in similar square footage to hers, and I'd wager that they don't have towers of rubbermaid containers and 80 milk crates nailed to the walls.

    If she wants to live simply and frugally, she's going about it all wrong. She needs to follow the way of the modern-day Thoreau movement (can't think what they are called). Very little "stuff."

    In short, she sucks and she's dirty.
