Hi.
So I am just starting to get ready to register (making my list and checking it twice) and have to admit that I am kinda clueless as a first time Mom. My DH and I were just discussing car seats last night. We are trying to be smart about things we get for the baby. We don't really want to get things that are unnecessary since we don't have alot of storage space...but of course we want to be sure to get those things that will keep our LO safe and happy. Which brings me to my question... do we really need an infant car seat and a convertible car seat? Or can we get away with just getting a convertible car seat with an infant insert? Any reasons not to? Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Re: Infant Seat and/or Convertible Car Seat
I went straight to a convertible seat that is good for an infant (all of them aren't) - The First Years True Fit. I'm happy with the choice.
We're planning to go straight to a convertible. I'm not really interested in carrying the baby around in the carrier (I intend to wear when possible anyway).
Of course, we may decide an infant seat is worth it in the end, but right now we're just goign to skip it. The trick is finding a seat that will properly fit a newborn. When you look at the convertible seats, you can pretty much tell which ones will NOT properly fit one. We've got an Evenflo Triumph Advance and I'm also planning on a First Year's True Fit.
Thanks Ladies!
You have all definitely given me food for thought!
