Babies: 9 - 12 Months

night time belly wakings

L is really starting to figure out how to move around.  She flips from back to belly, belly to back, and sits up on her knees and rocks.  The problem is that at night for the past week or so she keeps flipping to her belly and crying for me to flip her back over.  She's starting to do this about every 2-3 hours during the night now.  Any suggestions for how I can get her to stop waking up so many times or at least to not call for me so many times at night?

  • You may just have to let her CIO and figure it out on her own!

  • DD did this for about 2 weeks before she figured out how to roll back on her own. We would go in and rock her back to sleep.

This.  DS has been doing this for a few weeks.  The kid can roll over and over and over all across the living room but once he's in his crib and gets on his tummy, he can't/won't roll back over.  Finally a few nights ago we let him CIO, he cried/whined off and on for about 30 minutes and we found him fast asleep on his stomach the next morning.  I'd much rather him sleep on his tummy than cry out each time he rolled over.
