A few weeks ago I introduced Puffs as Charlotte's first food outside of solids and it caused her to turn her nose up to purees. She will still eat any pureed fruit and pureed squash (her fave) but she really prefers soft diced fruits & veggies. I've also let her try shredded chicken breast and last night I gave her some cannelini beans and she loved loved loved them. Did anyone ever give their DC beans as an early table food? I was watching her like a hawk... it just seems like more of a choking hazard, but I guess any food is really. She did great with it at any rate. Also give me other table food recommendations. She's almost 9 months, but Ava wasn't really into table foods for along time so I am not sure what is a go and what isn't.
Re: I have a foodie on my hands! ?'s about table foods
By 9 months old, Adah was eating pretty much whatever we ate. She could eat chicken, steak, etc... I think the only thing I held back on was really hard stuff (hard crackers) and teeny things like raisins. Adah also had several teeth by then, so it was easier for me not to worry. However, I do not think lots of teeth are necessary to eat table foods. My friends son did not get any teeth until 15 months and he just learned to mash stuff up (even pizza and stuff) with his gums.
Yeah they are just plain beans... that's all I ever have, cannelini or black beans.
Oh! And MandaK if you read this good idea about the cut up banana in crushed cereal. You posted that a couple weeks ago and Charlotte loves it!
