I've been using it since we brought her home. But I suppose it depends on if your LO has sensiyive skin (or you or DH do).

I thought you were supposed to wait awhile. I forget how long they told us to in our baby care class though. My baby hs flakey skin and we were reading this is completely normal since they've been in water for 9 months.
Actually, our nurses started using it on LO in the hospital after his baths. They gave us the rest of his stuff when we discharged and I use it after every bath. They will peel a few times when they are little, it's normal after being in the womby water for so long. But, as long as you use a baby lotion I don't see a problem. Our LO loves lotion time, we call it his massage.
we used it right away- i just put a dab on his leg and waited to see if he'd have a reaction first. He hasn't, and it's so dry here that I will butter up my baby once a week.
My Dr. said dont use anyting for the first 3 weeks, so thats what we did.

We still don't use lotion. My pedi says it messes with LO's natural oils and shedding. However I was told to definitely not use lotion for the first 2-3 weeks b/c your LO was in amniotic fluid for 9 months so their skin absorbs everything. So if you put lotion on them they will absorb even the chemicals in it. My pedi told me to use vasoline and it works better than lotion.

The peely skin is normal- but it drove me crazy- therefore we have been using lotion since day one- sensitive skin lotion is good.
We've used it since she was about 12 hours old. The hospital gave us some to use.
