what's it feel like?

what does the stripping of the membranes feel like?

I had an internal today and I could feel her "feeling around"...she said I was still (since the internal last Thurs when another Dr at the office checked me, since I was having bad back contrax) hard and closed up...she said babys head was there, but that it was hard to really get up there and feel anything since my cervix is still long, hard n closed...

I dont find internals to be painful at all, they dont bug me, just a little pressure, thats it...

I am wondering, what does the stripping of the membranes feel like, compared to just having the doc feel around in there?

She hasnt mentioned doing this, I am just curious...TIA

    I thought it felt the same as an internal....a little more pressure but not painful.

    it hurt more than an internal.  she started sweeping around in there with her fingers (how many not sure, but more than one) while pressing downward toward my tailbone (quite forcefully).  didnt hurt but it was uncomfortable for SURE

    I do know that they can't strip your membranes until they can reach them (ie, you need to be at least 1-2cm dilated), so I'm pretty sure they didn't strip you.
