3rd Trimester

36 week appt here I come :)

So I'm about to leave work in a few to go to my 36 week appointment =) I had my first internal last Thursday (problem visit) - "long, hard, and closed" - Dr. wanted me to keep my appointment to see if I had made any progress over the weekend, and since it's my routine scheduled 36 week visit.

I dont think I've had any progress..not that it matters or anything...

I am excited though, 4 more weeks, give or take! =) I cant wait to meet LO. I am happy that I have made it this far with no bedrest (2 months with DD#1), and if I had baby this week, there are great chances of her being a happy, healthy baby.

I wonder if my  Dr is just going to say hey, check me out, listen to LO's heartbeat, and ask if I have any questions.....you know, the usual. Or is she going to bring anything else up, that Dr's might ask when EDD gets closer? Hmm...I think it'll be a pretty uneventful appointment.

Anywho...just wanted to post and update on how i'm feelin this far into the game =) Hope you all are feelin well & havin a nice Monday!

Re: 36 week appt here I come :)

  • I have my 36th week appt this wednesday. Im wondering if i'll be having my 1st internal then. Im pretty nervous about it. I hope it feels like a pap smear because those never bother me lol  I too cannot believe in just 4 weeks (give or take) i'll be meeting my little girl. These 9 months flew by like nothing!

  • Do not be nervous.  I had my first one at 36 weeks last week and it was nothing.  I think a pap smear is worse.  I have read several comments about how painful it is etc....on this board and I had worked myself up over nothing.  Mine was quick and painless.

    Ditto.

They dont hurt at all. The only one I have ever experienced as painful is with DD#1, I was being examined by the nurse when I got to the hospital, and I was 7 cm, and I am now thinking back, about how painful it was, that I must have been having a contraction at the same time or something because I KNOW internals are not painful. None of mine with DD#1 were, and for this time around, I had my second one just about an hour ago, and it wasnt painful either. They say "a little pressure" and thats it. I could feel her moving her fingers around, to check it out, and it didnt hurt at all. I am still closed up, she couldnt really "get up there"...but knew the babys head was there...but im not softening or anything yet. Dont stress it!!
