3rd Trimester

Stretch Mark Question.....???

At this point I dont have any stretch marks on my belly at all. As of last week, I notice what looks like the beginning of those thick stretch marks, starting to come up on my sides. They started looking like a rash, it was only about 3-4 dark dots....now the "dots" are starting to run (like a hole in a pair of panthose!!) They're only about 4 cm long thus far, but my question is.....do any of you have them? If you had them in a previous pregnancy, did they go away or smooth out/lighten...or what?

Re: Stretch Mark Question.....???

  • I have stretch marks on top of my stretchmarks after 2 kids.

They do fade....by around 6 months pp they are just white/light skin colored marks, but they still have 'texture' to them if that makes sense.  They fade but don't completely smooth out basically.

  • I dont have any after first baby and so far none with this. I heard if you get them....they are with you for life. Yes they fade but they will always be visible.
  • I wish you luck! I didn't have any stretch marks at all until 35.6w and woke up one morning with them all along the bottom of my belly. :( Sad, sad day...
  • My DH so kindly pointed them out to me a few weeks ago. LO was moving around like crazy and it looked like an alien was about to burst through my belly. He said, "It's so amazing how much your body has changed. Look at all those red stretch marks!"

    Indifferent

I was lying in bed completely naked at the time...way to make a pregnant girl feel good about herself.

Everyone in my family has them, I was talking to my sister about DH's comment and she said, "I have no idea how some women don't get them." I know they fade...but they never go away Crying
  • So far I don't have any on my belly (thank god!), but I do have some on my butt cheeks! All of the pregnancy weight gain has gone to my belly, butt and thighs Stick out tongue.  I am praying that I make it through without any on my belly. Crossing fingers!
  • A part of me is kinda sad knowing that these thick watermelon vein looking marks may not fade.....but then I realize how/why I have them. Ahhh the joys of motherhood. Stick out tongue

I guess I'll continue to grease the hell out of them, and hope for the best.
