3rd Trimester

Moving in the third tri = Frustration!

DH and I are moving in about three weeks.  He has to work right up until we move, so I'm stuck packing.  I must be a wimp because I've read of other pregnant women packing up and moving late in pregnancy, but I can't do anything without hurting myself.  I figured this morning I would pack up the kitchen, but the constant up and down and pulling things out of the shelves, up and down the step ladder....is KILLING my stomach and back!  And the kitchen is the easy room.....I think I'm going to have to wait until after LO is here to move!  Too bad I don't have that option.

  • Just go slow!  And see if your sister or your cousin can come help you since I won't be much help either :-p

  • Oh my! I feel your pain! Just take it easy. Pack for 15min then kick your feet up for 30min. You have to give your back and your feet a rest otherwise you'll be even more miserable than you already are. I live in a three story town house...my bed room in on the 3rd floor...washer/dryer on the first. Living room in the middle. I can't even make it from the washer/dryer to my bedroom without a rest in between on the sofa! haha Just hang in there and remember that you are in your 3rd trimester! You DESERVE a break! :) Best to you!!

  • Yuck!  Definitely ask for help.  Just reading your post made me out of breath!

  • It is really difficult to do things in the third trimester. Yesterday, I did a lot of cooking for my husband's superbowl party. I wasn't doing much, just a lot of standing/walking and my back was KILLING me by the end of the night.

It's frustrating, but you shouldn't feel bad about it. Pace yourself, and take lots of breaks to sit down and rest.

You know I keep asking for help, but I think that ppl think I have a million years rather than a few short weeks.  Chelle has been busy with the shower, so now that thats over I think she'll come out and help some.  Sigh.  Fallon keeps saying she'll come and then something else comes up.

  • When we moved i had my mom come and help pack. But what i did was have DH put the stacks of dishes on the floor and our pots/pans where in the lower cabinets. So I would sit on the floor witht the empty box and paper towels and pack. Then tape the box up and leave it there for DH to move later. (did the same thing with the china, bathroom stuff, pretty much all the rooms so walking around at the end of the day was a little harder) Also if your drawers come out have DH take them out and put those on the floor too.

Also we had a couple stools so I would put an empty box on top of a pack box, sit on the stool and pack the pantry.

  • Wish I had some tall stools to sit on.  I'm wondering if I should go buy one and count it as a moving expense....

This is the truth.  I do things that are so not physically demanding, yet I am always sore and tired afterwards.  I hate it.
