No they are not safe. You should never have anything in the crib besides baby. Some can slip down and be face first with the wedge. They can then not move themselves and can suffocate.
Honestly unless your LO has severe reflux I would stay away.

I have one and use it right now in my PNP changing table because it has a down slope so when I change his diaper he rolls over. I may or may not use it in his crib later. I think that as long as you stop using it when they are more mobile it's fine
