Let's be logical. The whole point of the sleep positioner is to keep baby on his back, right? Well--babies can't roll over! Not til a few months old at least. A product meant to sucker in all of us...
(Sorry for the bitterness--but I totally fell for it. I thought DH would fall on the floor when I came home with it, he was laughing so hard. Sigh.)
I've heard they are only really needed if your baby has digestion issues or something like that. In general it was recommended to wait and see if your doctor recommends it.

I was going to get one thinking it would make the hard mattress in the bassinette more comfortable but consumer reports gives them bad reviews saying they are not safe.I can?t remember, but I think baby bargains gave a similar review.
