Today and the past yesterday I haven't had much movement. Yesterday I tried drinking juice, laying on my side, trying a soda (I don't drink much soda so thought maybe the caffeine would make a difference) and nothing seemed to work. I finally felt like 30 seconds worth of movement last night. Today I did the same and felt movement for maybe 2 times of very light movement. Neither day was like normal movement. I'm nervous about the lack of movement and thought I should call my doc but maybe this is fine. Anyone else just have a few days of quieter movement days?
Re: Not much movement?
I for sure notice days where LO moves less than others. I keep reading that they are like us - days where we're more active than others and that it's not that big of a worry.
But, if it's going to make you feel better call your Dr. There's nothing like hearing the heart beat to make you feel better.
I have had some days where there's been less movement, but it's been more recently. When you drink the juice, do you lay on your side and do kick counts? My OB says to lay on left side in a quiet, cool room and really pay attention for an hour (or less, if you feel them sooner) and count at least 10 movements. Doesn't have to be hard kicks, any kind of movement 10 times in an hour.
yep. ive had the same thing. i actually called my dr the other day, they brought me in for an u/s (which is protocol for their office once you mention decreased movement). my dr explained it to me... LO's have on and off days, days which they are growing more, days which they are more active.
you can always call your dr's office for peace of mind...

A couple weeks ago (about as far along as you are now) I had the same concern. He had been moving a bunch and then almost nothing for a couple of days. I had an appointment with my OB after the 4th day, so asked her about it. She asked if I had felt him 10 times that day, and I hadn't. They did a modified nonstress test (not supposed to do them unitl 32 weeks) and an US. The nonstress test involved sitting in an armchair for 30 min. with two monitors strapped to my belly (one to measure contractions, the other to monitor LO's heartrate). They also give you a button to press when you feel the LO move. They had a hard time getting a good read on the heartrate, they said because he had positioned himself pretty far to the back (also why I was not feeling him the way I had been. They had to put the monitor on pretty tight, and did a lot of poking and prodding. Turned out everything was fine and since then he's been moving as normal! I think he doesn't want them poking at him like that again!
If I hadn't had an appointment already, I prolly would have called my OB. I would never hesitate to at least call and ask them if they think I need to come in. I hope everything is ok with your LO and it starts shake, rattle and rolling again soon!

My LO definitely has slow days where I don't feel him as much. But even on the days when it's been very slow, I've been able to get 10 kicks in an hour.
If I was only getting 1 or 2 movements all day long, I would call for sure.
Yes, please do that. pick up the phone and call, or just head to the L&D to have them check and call doctor on your way there.
I don't want to scare you, but i lost DD almost 3 y ago - she was stillborn at 34 weeks. By the time i called the doctors office and complained that i have not felt her move as much as usual for a day it was too late - they could not find a heart beat. They believe it was a cord accident, and would i come in earlier, this could certainly be prevented... Once again, i don't want to scare you, just something to keep in the back of your mind.
