Warming baby food when traveling...

We are going to be staying in a hotel for a few days in May and I don't see many options that have kitchenettes (or even just a microwave).  Anyone know how I might warm LO's food in a hotel room?  The running under hot water thing just isn't going to cut it for my DS- he likes his food pretty warm.

  • Use the coffee maker to brew hot water, throw jar ( I assume that's what you are using) in mug and wait for a bit... voila.

HOT from the tap (or better, coffee maker) into a glass, then submerge the baby food, repeat as necessary.

There's really not one with a microwave?

I know!  Seems crazy, right??  I'll keep looking but if I can't find one with a microwave than the coffee maker idea it is.  Thanks!

  • We filled up the sink with hot water and then put the jar/bottle of water into the sink. It did the job. I am not sure if the hotel you are staying at has listed a crib or high chair on their website or not, but double check what double check what they consider to be a crib. We went to Daytona last weekend and DH requested a crib and high chair. The crib was a pack-n-play and the high chair was for the cafe for breakfast. If you can, I would suggest bringing your own stuff. We were able to bring our pack-n-play and booster seat.

  • We've gone camping with DS twice and after I forgot the bottle warmer the first time, I realized it's a huge pain without it.  It was much easier to just bring that and it can heat up jars, too.  We're going out of town this weekend and I plan on bringing it.  Sometimes DS is too cranky to wait for his food to heat up in a bowl of hot water Crying
  • I had no idea people heated up baby food! That had never occured to me! DD gets hers at room temp, or cold if it's been in the fridge. When I used to babysit the kids got it room temp also. I may try heating some up -- maybe she'll like it better!
