Nursing tanks

I think I'd rather just get some of these instead of a nursing bra at first, b/c I dont plan on going into public for a while.  Where is the best place to buy them?  Target, Motherhood, somewhere else?  TIA

Re: Nursing tanks

  • I got mine at Target.

  • I got mine at Target, $16 each, not bad.  They are comfy and long enough to cover the belly :)
  • Target and GlamourMom are both good.  Target is 1/2 the price....  Glamour Mom does have long length which I may spring for 1-2 from there since I am 5'9".  I wore these 24/7 w/ DD2 for all 14 mo.  It helped me BF in public easier because my gut was covered.  I covered my breast w/ my shirt, so it was easy.
  • I've heard really great things about Bravado tanks, too, but can't seem to figure out what size to buy.  They have a pretty thorough sizing guide on their site, but it doesn't seem to work for me.  I ordered one and it is so big I can NOT imagine I'll be filling it out, ever.
  • Motherhood had some great ones that have spandex in them and give lots of support and will help suck in the tummy after birth. They are really nice, I'm going to go back and get another one.

I had one from Motherhood after DD1 and it didn't seem to have the support the others did.  They may have changed in 4 years though.

  • I like the ones from Target but I would be mindful that once your milk comes in, your boobs (at least mine) may get HUGE. The large size tank is a bit snug for me now although it fit great at the hospital! Just something to consider before you buy too many. You definitely want support but nothing too constricting.

Thats exactly why I want to start with the tanks, b/c from what I can tell they are cheaper than the bras.  I was going to start with 2 then see what happens.
