Anyone else suddenly have a HUGE craving to EAT ice?

DH thinks I'm crazy, so I'm trying to show him I'm not the only one ;-)

How's your iron? You really shouldn't chew ice.

I have been sucking on it a lot, though, because I do have these major hot flashes all day.

YES. And I'm usually a huge spaz and hate when people chew ice (the noise drives me insane) but now I MUST have ice all the time.

I was gonna ask about your iron too. Ice cravings can be a sign of Anemia.

Craving ice can be a sign of iron deficiency. I have no idea how the two things are related, but it was one of the things to "look out for" in my pregnancy book from my OB.

Yes I love ice lately. I keep forgetting to have my iron levels checked though. I just had my glucose test about 3 weeks ago in which they told me they would check for other stuff too like anemia and everything was fine then.

I am the same. My mom is a huge ice chewer and always has been and i could never stand it. But now i just need ice. Lately my mom had her meds changed and they told her to up her iron intake so she takes iron pills and doesn't even eat ice anymore.. Id get your iron levels checked. I will be doing the same.

i go through about 5 trays of ice a day. it is SO yummy! And I do have low iron - but even now that I've upped my iron, ice is still my snack of choice. YUM

My sister craved ice her entire pregnancy. In the past 3wks I've really begun to enjoy ice myself. This past week, my OB told me I am anemic and I've begun taking iron pills, I haven't touched ice since. Weird. As for my anemia, it took 3 blood tests and the previous 2 were within normal ranges but on the lower side. But since we're on the subject, I'm gonna have a glass and go to bed.

i love ice. i have always chewed it and nothing is wrong with my iron levels. I crave it more in the winter, and i attribute it to the drier air from the heat.
