Re: when "they say" to eat pineapple

  • No clue. I don't really see how pineapple is gonna start labor my doula suggests (when it's time for me) to walk a LOT, sex, bouncing on the yoga ball.

    JK I have no clue!

  • I don't really know the answer to your question, but I drank one of those small cans of pineapple juice the other day and I had some serious BHs and some loose stools. No PTL, though. Thank God. I'll be leaving the pineapple alone for a few weeks.
  • I have no idea how much you should eat, but I know the enzyme contained in pineapple that helps soften your cervix is destroyed during the canning process. So, you need to eat fresh pineapple.
  • I never thought about it but I eat freshpineapple... hmm
  • Note to self.. go buy pineapple!

  • I probably ate 2-3 fresh pineapples a week in my last month of pregnancy and had DD 8 days early.  It was the only thing I wanted to eat!

  • I ate an entire fresh pineapple the other day, and...nothing.  Well, my lips and tongue ended up irritated/burning because of the enzyme (and I love fresh pineapple).  Not until I was force feeding myself the last few bites did I read online that you're supposed to eat the equivalent of about 7 pineapples for it to possibly have any effect.  Stick out tongue
