You could do Ontario Place (kids amusment park), the Ontario Science Centre. Canada's Wonderland might be too old for your LO but you can check it out online. The CN tower might be cool too. If you like musems there is the Royal Ontario Musem and the Art Gallery of Ontario. You could also do a day trip to Niagara Falls, it is only an hour away.

Canada's Wonderland has a wonderful toddler/childrens area. Check out the Toronto Zoo. You could also make a trip over to Centre Island as they also have a kids area.
Centre Island is great for little ones, plus you get to take the ferry out there. The Zoo is really fun, but bring a stroller as it is rather large! The Science Centre is also quite fun for children! There's also a free petting zoo called Riverdale Farm - located in Cabbagetown. Little ones really like it there! Enjoy your trip .. Toronto is a great city!
Riverdale Farm is my favourite place in the whole city!
Toronto is a very child friendly city. My nephews love taking the streetcars and subways. It never grows old.
It is really hot in in Toronto in July and very humid compared to San Francisco. The city has an extensive network of wading pools and splash pads for kids. They are free and almost every park has one and there are parks everywhere.
