2nd Trimester

Anyone else get creeped out...

by feeling their baby move and kick?  I enjoy feeling him, now that I can see his kicks from the outside and feel them.  They can be quite strong!  However, when I actually picture the fact that there is a human inside of me causing this, I get creeped out and have to focus on something else for awhile.  Am I the only one?

Re: Anyone else get creeped out...

  • Nope! That's exactly how I was at first. I actually started crying and told my SO that I felt like a bad mom because I didn't really like it. It was a creepy bubbly feeling. Now that the kicks are stronger and I can see them, I LOVE them!

  • I can't feel it yet. :( but I can imagine I will have flashes of the movie "Alien" go through my head a few times. lol.
  • Nope, you're not alone.  As happy as I am to be pregnant, I find the logistics of the whole thing weird.

  • I haven't felt that yet but I have heard the same thing from most of my girlfriends. Many of them hated the baby moving feeling.
  • The first time I felt him really do a full flip it freaked me out a little but now I love it. I actally have been getting nothing done during the day because Im always watching my tummy

Ok.  I'm the same way.  Especially how you can look at a newborn right after birth and be like, that was JUST inside of me!  But it is exciting nevertheless.

  • I haven't thought about it too much yet.  If I did, I'm sure I'd feel the same way you do cause I get like that with stuff.  Example: Eating scrambled eggs.  If I think too much about eggs, what they are & what they had potential to be (if fertilized) I get creeped out & can't eat anymore.  Silly, I know.

  • the regular aerobics don't bother me so much, but one day i felt a foot or elbow or something drag across my stomach.  freak-y.

I don't think it is silly! I get like that too, especially with eggs.  Even meat.  Even though I love it...if I actually think about what I"m eating, I get creepd out.

  • I haven't felt anything yet, but I'm dreading the day.  Even the thought of it creeps me out....big time.   It's gross.
  • A little, yes.  THis baby is shockingly active.  I thought K was an active fetus, but this one is ever more so, and I'm not even 17 weeks yet.  I'm more worried that it means this baby is going to be more all over the place and into everything that K is, which I wouldn't believe is possible.

  • No!  I literally feel a swell of happiness every single time I feel movement.

  • I love the kicks! However, just recently I've been able to feel him moving at other times...like more gentle movements. The other night, I was lying on my side and he was moving around. It felt like I had laid on something that was trying to crawl out from under me, and it freaked me out! Yeesh. I had to focus on something else for a while.

  • I just started feeling movements as of few days ago & they are still pulses or flutters.  It is something strange to get used to though.  Every time I feel flutters or pulsing it just feel like someone is tickling me from the inside.  Looking forward to knowing how kicks feel like.

I feel the same way with meat and eggs.  It's a rare occasion that I eat eggs.  Just thinking about them grosses me out right now.  Blech.
