Why not wipes? I'm pretty sure they have those. I'd think they have everything b/c LO is in their care while s/he is there, and if they didn't give you a list of things you need to bring, that means they have it covered.
Probably depends on the hospital, but at ours they do provide wipes, pacis, diapers, blankets, hats, long sleeve t-shits, socks, formula if you choose to FF, breast pump if you need it. You really only need to pack what you would need to bring baby home in.
when I asked about the wipes they said it's becuase they use wash clothes.. Is that weird? I'm bringing wipes just becuase I don't want to use a wash cloth. Guess it's not gonna hurt to pack a paci just incase!

A lot of people use wash cloths when their baby is brand new because then they can make it warmer babies don't like the cold wipes

hum. I guess that makes sense. lol, guess I just wouldn't want to do that laundry! oh well.. Guess I won't have to!
If your hospital has a website check and see if they have a labor & delivery section. Mine does and they list what they provide. They also have a packing checklist and birth options checklist.

If you have a certain brand of pacifier that you want to use, then bring it. And something I never thought of till I went on our hospital tour...if you plan on FF call and ask what formula they're using. My hospital does half a year of one brand and half a year of the other. They said that if you plan on using X brand but they're doing Y brand just ask the nurses if they have any of X brand.

Actually, ped's used to always recommend starting off with cloth wipes because the solution in disposable wipes was irritating. I think new formulas have come around. I have an older book on newborn care & read this...

I was told on our hospital tour/birthing class that they provide special wipes that are more cloth-like for that first meconium poop... wipes apparently don't do too well with it.
If you are planning to use a pacifier, I would bring one (or several different types) with you. My hospital had pacifiers but refused to give them to me. I actually had a nurse come in and say that they had them but she wouldn't give me one. I also brought several changes of clothes for the 48 hours that we were in the hospital after birth. Other than that, the hospital provided everything.
Mine provides nothing, although you can use their washcloths for wipes. But honestly, it provides nothing for baby or mom, except the bed/bassinet.

This is so weird. Why do they have pacifiers if they won't let you use them?
Re: what does the hospital provide?
t-shirt, hats, blankets, diapers, wipes, mesh panties and pads (for mom). our hospital didn't provide pacis...
